Among other things, I would assume this knocks the Tigers off the list of teams who may deal for Prince.

If there was one place for Fielder to block at trade, I'm sure it would have been to Detroit. He has avoided connections to his dad and I'm sure that is all he would hear for the first couple months there.

Fielder doesn't have a no-trade clause, as far as I know. I think you were just saying that as a theoretical, though.

yes, I mean theoretically. I don't think arby deals normally have no-trades. I seriously doubt Fielder wants to one-up his father. I think he just wants to be completely separated from him.

Actually the first thing he said after his 50 home run season at age 23 is that his father never did that.
