What do you want/expect in a relish tray? (Updated for 2012, post #49)

I'm pretty sure there is no beating Tenuta's. What we need to do is carve our own niche in the Christmas Eve snacking table. Brennan's has some ginormous grapes; I'm leaning toward pickles and a fruit assortment.

Nice of you to ask. We went with green grapes, cherry tomatoes, baby carrots, some little pickles that the SO picked out, and Italian pretzels from Brennan's. No olives because we confirmed that the Tenuta's platter would have olives. The only items for which we had leftovers were the pretzels (OK with me because I like them) and the pickles (OK with SO because he likes them).

So I consider it a success. Next time I think I'll replace the carrots with raspberries. Or maybe replace the pickles.

The Tenuta's platters were still awesome: one antipasto with olives, cheeses and a bunch of Italian cold cuts, and one with shrimp.

Sounds like a success! I could go for a relish tray today! Of course, I've been over eating for the last two + weeks so I should probably get back on track today.

Well, the contents of the hawing 2012 relish tray might help detox you from typical holiday food. Those Tenuta's trays...yeah, they would not.
