I wonder how well Miller Park would withstand a tornado like an F3 or F4? Was it designed to survive any natural disaster? Is that even taken into account in the Midwest?

These are the questions that pop into my brain when reading about tornado warnings and Miller Park.

As an engineer I can tell you that it is possible to design for wind speeds as high as a tornado, I have never worked on a project as large as Miller Park but I would probably think from an insurance standpoint and lost baseball revenue it would be worth it to design it to withstand a tornado. The Midwest is prime tornado territory so if it would be considered anywhere it would be here and the plains region.

I blame that balk on Nieves (/half blue).
This is Jack Burton in the Pork Chop Express, and I'm talkin' to whoever's listenin' out there.

He balked in a run? Really? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

The staff we know in the terrace level guest relations booth told us during a stormy night last season that the park was supposedly designed to withstand a tornado. I'd guess not a huge tornado or direct strike; or put differently, if the storm that's hitting Dane County now were in Milwaukee while I was at MP, I'd be heading to the lowest level restroom I could get to quickly. All that glass, yikes.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Why on earth are they opening the roof? Do they know how to read the radar?

They're trying to save the bullpen in a long stretch without an off day by going for the five inning rainout victory.

I have no idea why they're opening the roof. I'd imagine it's like an oven in MP right now though. How stupid is it that MP doesn't have air conditioning?

Since Opening Day,Wil Nieves has been hitting .113 with 1 extra base hit. This is getting beyond ridiculous Melvin. You've got two perfectly capable replacements in Nashville right now.

Someone is going to look awful stupid if it starts raining and the roof is open

I just had tornado sirens go off near our house in Waukesha. It was definitely a ballsy decision to open the roof
