Hot keys in quick reply?

Is there any way to get that back? I may be mislabeling the feature as hot keys. I mean where I could select text in Quick Reply, press ctrl+i and the HTML code would be applied to the text and then appear as italics when posted.

You're the second person to ask that question.

 

Two of us Googled a bit, but right now, it doesn't appear that anything is built in. I don't know if it's possible to add something or not at this point.

At least I'm not the only one! FYI, I just use the Full Editor more. I do like that you can start a message, then decide to use the full editor without losing the message.

I'm also using the full editor more and for exactly that reason. If there's something I feel the need to italicize I just switch over.
