American league has 2 starters that once played for the T-Rats, not as a Brewers farm team though.

Ortiz at DH and Jones at CF.

I saw a post on Twitter that there are 8 former Twins in the All-Star Game. Wonder if any team has ever had more former players than that.

Whoever decided Neil Diamond should sing on the field during the game should be fired. I like Neil but that was stupid. The fans were dead and only cheered when they showed Mariano Rivera getting ready to come in.

Boy are you right.

The love for Rivera was a little overboard also.

Gomez in RF? Blasphemy

They totally set him up for failure on that Prince hit by placing him in RF. I haven't decided how blue I want to make that sentence.

And I sort of get the Rivera worship, but I don't share in it. I don't wish him any specific harm, but OK, dude's retiring, I get it.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I really don't agree. The actual value of the 'closer' is certainly fair game for debate, but in that context this is one of the greatest players ever in that position. It was a curtain call for one of the greatest pitchers MLB has ever seen. His 206 ERA+ on Baseball-Reference is over 50 points higher than any other pitcher in the history of the game.

And to top it off, he's humble and simply a class act all around. He deserves all the respect he gets, and arguably more imo.

Just look at this career. A 2.20 ERA, with his prime-age seasons coming in the height of the so-called steroid era. 11 seasons with an ERA under 2, including 8 of his last 9 full seasons. Trevor Hoffman was/is an all-time great reliever, and even he doesn't belong in the same conversation as Rivera.
