#1 prospect on Keith laws board, I'll take it. Would have been ok with Groome, but whoever it is, it has to be a hit.

A cynic might say this is the result of all our high-upside prospects tanking this season.

(I like Ray though, not too miffed. Love having a couple of high-OBP outfielders in Ray and Clark)

Very jealous of the Rockies.

I'm not. When a high school kid that tosses 100 makes the big leagues, maybe I'll be impressed. Colt Griffin, Jason Neighborgall, etc....I'd rather find a kid that throw 91-93 and the potential to add velocity. I know...just because the others that threw 100 in HS failed doesn't mean he will, but I'm going with it.

Hard to pass on Puk there, but I understand the love

I'm done. Look at the broadcast, they aren't thrilled like Pint or Anderson. Ray. Blah! I need to go punch something. That is back to back drafts, the player I won't least was selected.

Interesting, Law had Ray #1?

Ray is a great athlete - tons of speed - 44 steals last year without getting caught.

His numbers sort of float in the 'good but not great' area - he's not an elite hitter, he's not an elite power guy. But again, he's got a to of athleticism, so we'll see. At 21, he's probably closer to what he is than a younger guy.

In the end, I don't mind going with athleticism if things are close.

5'11, 185 lbs and questions about whether he can stick at CF.

I'll just have to trust the Brewer scouts on taking him over some SP who look pretty good.

I contend this is David Stearns playing it safe because he doesn't want to screw up his first draft. Problem is he just screwed it up.
