I like the Leafs... I like all the Original 6. I think it's good for hockey when they are. successful.

Their fans are the equivalent of the Cardinals, Yankees or Red Sox and sometimes as annoying as Cubs fans.

20 minutes in in Minnesota...these Badgers look...good. Like, really good. Outside of the first 15 seconds they have dominated the next 25 minutes.

They certainly are easier on the eyes.

It may be early but I think you're right. This is a good hockey team.

I'm gonna jinx it, but yea, I'm gonna say it, this is a good team. The offensive zone time has to be 2 to 1. They have given up a few odd man breaks but overall I am impressed.

They are light years better in front of the net on both ends of the ice.

I'm betting coach Hastings will make sure they are ready.

He has a bit of a Bo Ryan on ice feel too him.

Knows how to coach and win and has done it everywhere he has been.

Yea - it really does feel like he connects better with getting these kids prepared.  I am sure that goes back to his time in Juniors as well. The guy has just won everywhere he goes.

I can't see the back side rotation, but it appears the defensemen are much more aggressive.  If there is a loose puck towards the faceoff circle on the boards, they are attacking it.

Although there weren't a lot of shots on goal, the Badgers controlled the puck in the zone in 5x5 situations.  I didn't see Thursday's game, which had the Badgers outshooting the Gophers big time.

I was impressed with Minnesota's goalie.

I was also sad that so many Gophers have last names from Badger lineage (Snuggerud and Strobel).  Oh well.

On a serious note, calls for Matt Petgrave's arrest have started in the aftermath of Adam Johnson's death. Video of the incident, which I highly recommend you don't watch if you have a weak stomach or even if you don't, seems to suggest Petgave intentionally went high on Johnson with his skate.

I don't know what to think on this.  It does look intentional but can you arrest someone for something done in a game?  I would definitely think he should never be allowed to play hockey again at any level though.

Saw it unintentionally.  In my one quick look at it - I thought, how could he possibly have done that intentionally.  Others are saying you can see him push off with his foot.  I wont watch it again, so I have no idea if that is the case or not.

The forecheck and even backcheck have been tenacious so far.  I am hopeful that they keep it up.  This early start to the year has been so much fun. The biggest difference is it doesnt appear to be dominated by just 1 guy(Caufield/Holloway) or the PP.

Bucky with the 3rd period come from behind win. 2 goals in the last 8 minutes.

Final 5 to 4.

Fun team to watch.

Those two goals were within :39 seconds of each other.

Michigan is very aggressive offensively.  Great job, Bucky, exploiting that.  It almost looked like a 2-on-1 for the last goal.

Will be at tomorrow night's game with a friend of mine who unexpectedly lost his wife last spring.

He's excited about it after having a pretty rough summer.

What a wild game last night, and of course, instead of having a top 5 matchup on tv...it was pushed to BT+. Just such a poor job of marketing the sport.

I'll be at the game tonight...hopefully. Fighting a pretty narly cold.

It is between Hockey or Women's Volleyball.  Volleyball wins.

That was a lot of fun for only being a two to one win.

Actually beating Michigan 2-1 is probably more impressive than beating them five to four.

It certainly got loud when the game winner hit the net with six seconds to go

Brings back memories of the Dane County Coliseum?

Little bit but still missing the John Newberry water bottle. I think they bronzed it and put it the trophy case.
