Wednesday's action:

Dominican Box -- An 8-4 win for Jonathan Villar and Christian Bethancourt's team, now up 2-0 in their Dominican Winter League Championship series.

Villar, playing shortstop, was 2-for-4, run, two K's. Bethancourt, 1-for-3, run scored.

Of course, Villar, did produce several cringe-worthy tweets with this choice on the basepaths --

Aguilas Bottom of the 4th

Jonathan Villar singles on a ground ball to left fielder Julio Borbon.

Aguilas challenged (play at 1st), call on the field was upheld: Junior Lake grounds into a double play, third baseman Donovan Solano to first baseman Yamaico Navarro to third baseman Donovan Solano. Jonathan Villar out at 3rd.

Danny Santana homers (1) on a fly ball to left field.

Felix Perez lines out to left fielder Julio Borbon.

Thursday's Australia game is streaming now, it will archive as well. As I type this, the two Brewers' kids, Hall and Williams, are due up in the 6th as Perth is getting no-hit. Hopefully you will watch a break-up of that, courtesy of one of the young men.

Thursday's action:

Dominican Box -- It was an extra-inning walk-off loss for Jonathan Villar and Christian Bethancourt's club, now up two games to one in the best-of-nine League Championship Series.

Villar was 1-for-5 (triple, K), Bethancourt 1-for-3 (BB, R, K).

Australia Box (Friday's game there) -- In a 10-9 win, catcher Alex Hall was 3-for-4, two R, RBI, K. Jesse Williams, playing second base, was 0-for-4, K.

Venezuela Box -- Despite an OK start from Junior Guerra (5.1 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 3 BB, 1 K), his Lara club lost 5-2 when the bullpen allowed three eighth-inning runs. You can see his batter-by-batter log here.

I believe this is a best-of-nine series as well, and Guerra's club now trails three games to two.

In Australia, Perth qualifies for the best-of-three league semifinal series. In a Saturday doubleheader, Alex Hall was 3-for-3 in the opener as the designated hitter and 1-for-4 catching in the nightcap. Jesse Williams contributed a sacrifice fly in the opener. Hall's OPS is all the way up to .849 after 120 AB's.

Junior's keeping runs off the board but his K's have taken a nosedive. About 5.5/9 against much inferior competition.

Probably not throwing his splitter as much, or at least I hope not.

Not only that but a lot of guys swing early in counts in Latin baseball.
