Straily

Reports surfacing that he might be the next Marlin to be traded.

Do we want him? What would it take to get him?

He's certainly not the TOR arm that everyone is looking for, but he should be relatively cheap for 3-4 more years of control and he'd probably fit nicely into that #4 spot in the rotation right now. Thoughts?

Straily is a useful starter but he doesn't move the needle much. You don't give up anyone you think could be a core player the next year or two, but some low level lottery guys maybe along with an extra major league piece would be fine.

Only if the Marlins are willing to throw out 2016 when doing the complete evaluation of him. He should be valued like a 1.5 to 2.0 WAR player and if he is then I would be interested because that would be a fair price. But if the Marlins price him as a 3.0 WAR player, which wouldn't be ridiculous because Baseball Reference had him as a 4.3 WAR player in 2016, then he would be over-priced and I wouldn't be interested.

If he's valued at something like 1.7 WAR per season then a fair deal would probably be something like Freddy Peralta + Trent Grisham + Zack Brown.

Personally, I wouldn't give up that much for him. Peralta alone has pretty good value in my mind. Not all prospects make it, but if you start trading it off for middling talent, you don't know that you just traded away a star and kept the wrong guy.
