OF Quintin Berry was activated from the Helena paper roster to join the Sky Sox when Brett Phillips was called up.

OF Johnny Davis has been released from Colorado Springs.

I know its not a difference maker in the scope of things due primarily to the high-end OF depth at AA & AAA, but can someone explain to me why room was made for all that depth by releasing Davis as opposed to Quintin Berry? Nothing against Berry, but they seemed to fill similar niches (speed/capable batting LH) and Davis has much more upside as an advanced athlete and younger age. Even though he just turned 28, his prospect arc plays younger. as is well chronicled, he came to baseball late, didn't start his pro career until 23, and due to injuries, he's really only had three cumulative years of professional experience, so developmentally in a way should be compared to someone a couple years younger- except at 28 he's just entering his physical prime.

either way- wish him well.

I'm guessing he saw that Cain, Yelich, Phillips, Broxton, Taylor, Wren, Ray, Stokes and Grisham are ahead of him on the depth chart, and given his advanced age for a AA-AAA player, he asked for, and received his release to go try to find a better opportunity where he wasn't blocked by as many better players.

Is somebody injured at AA or could this be a domino effect from a catcher being called up to replace Bandy?

Isn't it just replacing Franklin as the third catcher?

RHPs Freisis Adames and Victor Castaneda, C Luis Avalo, and OF Anderson Melendez have been transferred from the DSL roster to the AZL Brewers roster, likely signaling that they'll be playing stateside this year. All four were in Maryvale during spring training.

The DSL season begins in about 3 weeks.

Scooped up less than a week after being released by St. Louis, 24-year-old infielder Darren Seferina, a Curacao native drafted in the 5th round in 2014, assigned to Biloxi.

Off to a small-sample start in 2018, Seferina posted a combined High-A and AA line of .278/.357/.409 last year. If the Brewers had released such a player, it likely would have raised an eyebrow or two here.

INF/OF Dylan Moore promoted to Colorado Springs.

Given the revolving door of middle infielders at the ML level, I would say there's a solid chance Moore sees Milwaukee before too long, as long as he continues to rake. And given he's going to Colorado Springs, that seems likely.

C Bryan Torres has been transferred from the DSL co-op roster to the AZL Brewers roster as well.

- can play multiple positions - check

- bats left handed - check

The only box he doesn't check for the David Stearns trifecta is "previous underwhelming MLB experience".
