Weeks Update

Haven't the Brewers pretty much implied that Weeks will start out in Beloit? If Gwynn did, I can't see any reason why he wouldn't.

Yeah, everyone said he'd start in Beloit- but would he play there this year signing so late?

 

Can anyone did thru the achives and find out how long after Gwynn signed before he played?

I think it took about a week before Gwynn signed before he started playing. I believe he spent 3-5 days in Beloit with the team before seeing time on the field.

 

Plus, let's not get our hopes up too much. We have no idea how reliable this guy's source is.

I know it's just a "rumor" until the deal is done, but its hard not to get a little excited about seeing him in Beloit before the end of the year. That lineup has done a pretty good job the last two months, and adding Weeks should make it that much better.

 

Its wonderful to have a team so close contending for a playoff birth.

That would be a great idea for the Brewer management. Get Weeks in Beloit, then plug the hell out of the Snapper game at Miller Park so that even the non casual fans show up. Have a nice give away and everything, fireworks after the game.

 

It would be great for the fans to check out how "it's coming together" while watching our future 1B, 2B, and possibly OF.

 

Anyone have any idea who is pitching that night?

Wow, how cool would that be. An early glimpse of what's to come.

 

By the way, did anyone notice that with Manny P. pitching today, if he goes again in five days (regardless of schedule), that would mean he pitches on Saturday the 9th, and then another 5 days puts him on the mound on the 14th.

That would probably be about the saviest thing the Brewers have done in decades. Here's to hoping they realize that.

Well if the Brewers are trying to give some proof that the farm system is for real Weeks shouldn't hurt, and having Manny is your scheduled starter is pretty sweet too. Of course a couple of Prince moon shots would be fun as well.

A second source at the ESPN message board is confirming that the Brewers will have a press conference tomorrow announcing the signing of Rickie Weeks.

dang, any chance of this game (Beloit at Miller Park) making the Sporcenter highlights instead of the Brewers that night (if they even play)
