An excel spreadsheet would do that for you if were so inclined.

Make a model of something, run it a whole bunch of times and average the results:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monte_Carlo_method

So, I estimated the probability of the Brewers winning each of their first 126 games, simulated a season 10,000 times and foudn the average numbers of wins, average longest streak, average best 10 game streak, etc... I use a free excel addin that makes it easy.

In simpler terms brewers19 if you determined that someone had a 1 in 6 chance of getting a base hit a Monte Carlo Simulation would involve rolling a die a whole bunch of times and reporting the overall results (how many times did you get a 1, 2,3...) Now in this case it's pretty trivial but in areal case with a more sophisticated probability model the simulation lets you get an idea of how often certain things will happen.

what are you using to "simulate the season"?

Log5 equation, which compares winning percentages of 2 teams and gives a win probability for that game. I then adjust that for home/road. It's basically the same thing I do for series probabilities, more or less.
