2019-04-23: Brewers (Davies) at Cardinals (Ponce de Leon) [Brewers lose 4-3 -- Arcia hits HR; Shaw hits 2 HRs]

We have not scored a run that was not the result of a hole run in a week.......that has to be some sort of a record.

I'm bored watching this team so far this year........bad pitching and all or nothing offense.

Hopefully they turn it around soon

I’d call it a rough stretch, but they weren’t any good before despite the record.

This team sucks...like easily sub .500 talent/results so far. Hope guys can turn it around...but man they have been weak in way too many ways. Starting rotation needs to step it up first and foremost and the offense...wow it needs something to give.

The Brewers have now completely undone their 7-1 start as the Cardinals have cruised past them and the Cubs have caught them after their bad first week.

Chances of winning the April pennant rapidly dwindling.

The Cubs caught us playing 6 games against the Marlins & Snakes.

Eventually we will play some bad teams too.

The Diamondbacks have a better record than us and a +10 run differential compared to our -11.

Most everyone looked at the first month of games on the schedule and figured it would be a struggle. So why is it such a surprise that it has been a struggle?

I agree but I will say struggle is putting it lightly when talking about our pitching.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I don't think the record at this point is a huge surprise or a big concern. It's more about how bad we've looked that is concerning.

Yeah, pitching has been an issue, but they are also facing one top offense after another. If the pitching continues to struggle when they get into games against lesser teams, then it's time to take it more seriously. I'm willing to look past the 3-game bed wetting against the Angels right now.

This team NEEDS to be on the right side of a 12-2 laugher soon.

Like the Angels without Trout?

Sometimes bad teams post +10 run differentials over a couple dozen games.

Sometimes better teams post -11 run differentials over a couple dozen games.

Yes, or the Reds.

To date, 13-12 is a good record, even if it has been a struggle.

Would I have preferred to see Burnes and Peralta do better? Yes.

Do I wish Wahl and Knebel were healthy? Yes.

Would it be nice to see Jesus hitting at his 2017 clip at the very least? Yes.

Would it be good if Braun and Shaw weren't slumping? Sure.

If the Crew survives this part of the schedule and is no more than a game or two back... the division title is ours.

True, however, given the way we started the first week, I think it is fair to be worried...

This did start out great. Now they are in an obvious skid. They'll get hot again soon, and then they'll look like crap again. Because baseball.

Is it possible to lose and still look good?
