When is the last time a guy robbed a homerun without jumping?

That was the most pathetic robbing of a HR I've ever seen, but really it only would have looked silly had he jumped higher...he did what he had to do and the nice SoCal fan obliged by moving his glove.

Joey Lucchesi has been a slightly below replacement level pitcher both last year (-0.1 bWAR) and this year (-0.1 bWAR), but he sure is in complete control of this Brewers offense tonight.
Not just “at Night” anymore.

Uhm, do we counter with Gamel or Thames? please? Or do they go back to a lefty then? Still...

Wow. Petco makes a lot of outs that would be HRs elsewhere.

Yes, indeed!

It's time to break out our bunt offense!

Matt Carpenter bunted for a double tonight for the Cardinals!

Let's do it!

Tonight was the longest scoreless outing of Lucchesi’s career. Hopefully not a sign of things to come facing two more lefty starters the next two days.
Not just “at Night” anymore.

I would take a Christian Yelich home run right now even if it means this game is going to go 17 innings tonight/this morning.

Perhaps they should just put Freddy in the pen and leave him there?

It's a no-brainer! He's only got two pitches, after all.

So did Ben Sheets. Most starters throw 2 pitches about 90+ pct of the time.

There's no reason to pigeon hole him into either role right now.

Actually, Freddy really only has one pitch. That curveball is so erratic and thrown so rarely ...

I got no issue if Shaw ends up spending much of this year in AAA.

Neither do I, but I can't be mad about that last AB. In fact, that last inning was kinda depressing because Stammen was masterful with that fastball. It looked almost exactly like what Nelson's Fastball looked looked like pre-injury. Lively and he was able to locate it to both sides, and vertically.

Of Shaw's issues are hardly relegated to one single AB.

Still, I'd like to see both guys given through this month to get going. If they're still struggling, they're still struggling and you have to make a move by bringing Keston back up. But if you can just get one of them going, you're basically adding a middle of the order bat to a division leading team and you only have to worry about adding a couple of rental arms to the BP.
