Brewers get: 3B Kyle Seager & LHSP Marco Gonzales

 

Seager is owed $52M over the next 3 years (if traded, the 2022 option becomes a player option). He posted a 110 wRC+ and 2.9 WAR this last year. He’s a very good defender and his splits are pretty even. A possible plan B (or plan A) in the event Moustakas signs elsewhere.

 

Gonzales is under control for 4 more years and has posted WARs of 3.4 and 3.7 the last 2 years.

On the Brewers side of things, I’d sell Davies as a secondary piece. If Turang is off-limits, then it probably begins with Burnes or Peralta. Here are a few from the trade website.

Doesn't seem great to me. Is the upgrade from Davies to Gonzales really worth taking on that contract for Seager along with any upside on our prospects, especially Burnes if they fix him. Don't think it's worth it imo.

Yeah, if the Brewers want Marco, go for that deal alone. Might cost a pretty penny, and a good chunk of the system, though.
