Subscription auto renew

How do I turn off auto renewal of membership without cancelling my membership? Maybe the subscription screen isn't clear but I have no option either now, or at sign up, to not be auto renewed when my subscription ends. I'd prefer to decide again in a year as opposed to it being automatic.

I tested this but it was a long time ago on Twins Daily. Go ahead and cancel your renewal, the system should just expire it in a year. If it disables it completely, I'll manually renew it for you.

Ok I cancelled and I still have my membership. I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't mess it up. I thank you for the help, and for the ad-free option.

If you use PayPal for your subscription (anywhere, not just this site) you can disable auto renewals in your PayPal account. Basically you are revoking permission for a site to use PayPal to charge you again without cancelling on the site itself.

Edit: I should mention that you'd have to do this manually for each recurring subscription you use PayPal for, there is no opt out for all (as far as I recall anyway). Generally when you sign up for subscriptions with PayPal you are giving permission up front for recurring payments, you would disable the auto-renew afterwards.

Yeah, you can do it via PayPal if you used that payment method but we also offer direct credit card processing through Stripe (a highly respected online processor). The way we have it set up, our server never sees your CC number, that entire portion of the page is managed by Stripe for security reasons.

For the record I'm not advocating for folks to cancel their auto renewals just providing info for those that may be unaware of the option. I think the current subscription price is very reasonable for those that wish to support the site. I'm not even doing it to avoid ads, I just want to contribute.

Absolutely. Our goal is to be as transparent and simple as possible. We're not trying to steal money here, we're providing a service and anyone who no longer wishes to use that service should be given an easy way to opt out.
