Counsell's best move of the evening was starting Peterson against a lefty.  Can't sit him right now.

Strzelecki wins in his debut, after nearly two weeks since he last pitched in a game.

Babe Peterson.

I don't know what the advanced stats say, but it feels like his D at 3rd has been pretty good too

Yep! It's been a significant factor in his 1.0 WAR, which is one of the tops on the team position player wise.

Fun & unexpected come from behind win … helps offset the last two losses to the hapless Cubs … both of those were winnable games

Proud of the Crew

Peterson is a “gamer”

What. A. Win! Cheers to all you Game Thread-ers who made it through that rally. Epic stuff. Strzelecki got his feet wet too. He has nasty stuff when he’s on. We got a little taste tonight.

Guys know they could lose their job any day now.

I remember when Yount won the starting SS job in 1974 at age 18 (same as Chourio) after only 64 games in the minors

He made 44 errors that year, but he was special

I had no idea at that time how rare it was for such a young kid to make the big league team

Here’s hoping Chourio continues his rise through the system & lands in Milwaukee by 20 or 21

Soto was in the majors playing at an all-star level at 19. Just saying...?

I'll bet CC keeps Cutch in the lineup with his game winning hit. Even with his 0-32 record. Jeez

So, you're gonna follow up your complaints about people disagreeing with you with a post like this? Jeez

That was the type of win that naturally extended my bedtime by at least 2 hours

Alas, I dozed off. But I woke up to catch the score and highlights. Great win! Happy for Cutch. Woot.

F' it, call him up, all he has to do is go 1-32 or have an ops above  .213 against lefties to be an improvement.

It's kinda weird to see this level of vitriol directed towards a team leading their division by 3 games. One of the oldest sports cliches in the book is the one about good teams winning when they aren't playing well. I get that game threads are visceral but some of them recently have been borderline unreadable, IMO.

I still think at some point Houser becomes a relief pitcher who has value over a starter who struggles through 5. He has done a good job as a number five man but if Ashby stays in the rotation he may be the odd man out. I think that sinker would look good in the pen.

Adrian Houser is currently sitting at a 3.51 ERA in 10 starts, averaging just over 5 innings a start. This is after he put up a 3.22 ERA in 28 starts a year ago.

He's a starter.

I find it a little disingenuous that the Brewers won in such a dramatic fashion, and this was your takeaway.

I've gotten frustrated watching this team over the last week. Splitting the series against the Cubs that they should have swept hurts. Letting the Cardinals hang around last weekend hurts. The feeling that they are being ultra-conservative getting these major players back from injury downright sucks. I want to see thus team close to full strength. I want the IGTs to be fun again. I want Cain, Cutch and Yelich to get things figured out. I also understand that those who are typically negative will simply find something else to complain about when/if they do.

Best game of the year!  Tuned out after the 4th inning and tuned back in to see Keston lead off the bottom of the ninth.  Got to see the only highlights that matter.  Go Crew!

What are IGTs?
