Bob is talking about how the Phillies fired Gerardi because they thought the talent was better than their record.  I don't think that' the case here:  the recent bad record is indicative of the talent, at least with the bat.

You can't have a floor without a cap and I'm fine with both.

The biggest problem is television revenue. I wish more baseball fans acknowledged this. All a cap without more income equality does is make ownership more money. It doesn't mean the Brewers can compete with the Dodgers financially, it just means the Dodgers get to pocket a boatload of money.

The sport needs revenue sharing and a floor. They already have a cap in practice and all it has led to is 90% of owners refusing to go over it.

The cap you speak of is so high that most teams can’t even approach it…..certainly not the mid to small markets.

Salary cap has mitigated or fixed tbe inequities in the other pro sports so,to say only the owners are responsible is just not true.

Certainly other solutions could also help but this is far from a one side is at fault issue,

It's fixed in other sports because... wait for it... television revenue is shared.

That's it. That's the fix. If teams have closer to the same revenue, most of baseball's inequity is fixed in a snap.

I'm sure those against a cap would have been thrilled watching Aaron Rodgers play for the Cowboys while the Packers go through 20 scrub QBs.

Better to see Renfroe up with nobody on base. That gives him a better chance to drive in a run.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

So bunting Caratini to 2nd is the kind of bunt we will try? with Caratini running?

No sport shares  local revenue…..NFL is a unique situation……NBA almost folded before players agreed to a cap….with modifications.

I’m sure the Brewers would love to have local revenue shared but why would the Dodgers or Yankees do that?

Salary floor and Cap would best solution…..but it’s not happening.

The Dodgers and Yankees need to do it because baseball is far more reliant on local television deals than the NBA.

I'm not even talking about all the money going into a pot. What I think the solution should be is that TV rights are split just like gate revenue. Each team playing gets their cut. Visit the Dodgers for a three game set and get your 48% for those three games.

Because the Dodgers don't get that TV revenue if they don't have a team to play.
