How can Burnes only have one earned run if the Brewers didn’t make an error?

Passed ball on Caratini led to leadoff hitter getting on, who eventually came around to score. That's one unearned run. Next batter, who reached on a base hit, scored with two outs. Another unearned run.

I made an earlier post about there needing to be accountability on this team and a roster shakeup being necessary before tomorrow night's game. Well, the obvious move is staring us all in the face. Since his "breakout" game in the series finale against the Cardinals, Lorenzo Cain has failed to register a single hit in 23 at-bats, dropping his OPS down to a season-low .440. That is absolutely not acceptable for a major league hitter, regardless of defense. Furthermore, in an article in the Athletic last week, Cain admitted that he was at a complete loss with respect to his hitting performance. If that, combined with his league-worst stat-line, isn't a signal that he is finished, then I don't know what is. While he has certainly earned his then team record contract and remains a beloved figure in Milwaukee, it is clear that the time has come for both sides to part ways.

Meanwhile, in Nashville, starting CF Jonathan Davis is currently putting forward a .315/.431/.435/.866 slash line. This is in addition to his outstanding defense, where he possesses massive range despite his average throwing arm. In fact, Davis has pretty much become a carbon copy of prime Cain at the AAA level. Granted, his results in the majors so far have been less than stellar, but some of that is due to an abnormally low BABIP. And, with the trade deadline coming up in less than two months, the Brewers need to see what they have in Davis before considering potential outside additions. Taylor can still be the starter for the most part, but Davis has earned the right to be on the team over Cain and provides you with that same defensive insurance.

This team needs a shake up whether it’s via call ups or trades.

Exactly. We're extremely fortunate to still be in the position we're in but let's make the most of it starting this weekend against a bad team in Washington. Now is the time to move.

I liked everything until your suggestion for whom to replace Cain. Davis could be one of those guys who has a couple of quality major league seasons after being consistently bad, but it's not likely. The most likely source of in-organization improvement is Joey Wiemer, who would be a big step up even if he can't hit above .230.
Dahl has a better chance for having a quality season in the majors than Davis does, imo. I'd only bring Davis up if he's the 5th OF.
