Trade Rumor With Giants

One of my friends has a friend who used to be in media relations for Brewers. Anyways, around 2:00 yesterday, I get a text from friend that says his buddy is super hyped because the Brewers are working on this BIG trade. He even had names of guys they were looking to add- Rodon, Brandon Belt, and Joc Pederson,  It fell apart late because “prices were outrageous”. Ended with Rosenthal instead.

No idea if any of this is true. This is the trade rumor section. Anyone else hear this?

I didn’t hear anything from anyone that I know but Rodon alone had a crazy high price tag.  The deal falling apart makes sense because of Rodon’s price tag.

I am going to assume the Giants probably wanted Urias, Chourio and others just for Rodon.  Belt would have been a salary dump so I am going to assume Severino would have been in the package and Pederson probably would have been for a lower level prospect.

I think this is what the Giants proposed.

Chourio, Urias, Tellez, Frelick, Severino and a couple of lower level prospects.

That would've been insane. Better to do nothing than accept that trade.

I'm assuming almost everyone we talked to for a potential major deal was talking Chourio, Frelick, Weimer and/or Turang. And we just weren't going to do that save for the unlikelihood of putting something together for Soto. And wisely so.
