Game Thread (8/24/2022): Brewers (Houser) at Dodgers (Heaney) - 8:00 PM CDT

Imagine if the Braves who needed a centerfielder in the worst way decided to keep the Harris kid in the minors because they don't want him to get expensive a year earlier. Instead, they bring him up he sparks the team and they turn around and give him an 8-year deal. I am a Brewers fan but I can see why the Braves win championships and the Brewers are happy with a playoff run. Frelick should be given the next 35 games to see if he can provide something. If he does great. If he doesn't it can't get any worse.

Good luck with Houser, gents. I can 100% say: he didn't impress in a single Triple-A outing. His last outing, his worst. Hopefully, the tide turns. Fantastic day on the Farm.

So what. Deal with reality not what could have been. Reality tells me it was a base hit. If the Packers didn’t have a punt blocked in the 49er playoff game they could have won the Super Bowl last year. The only problem was it didn’t happen that way. Could hav, should have, would have.

Yup, you're right, the result is all that matters...or something

The best player in the group in Triple-A right now is Garrett Mitchell. Frelick has been an on base machine, yes. BUT, I would roll with Mitchell from the 'whole package' perspective. You can toss a ball in the air between Ruiz and Frelick - both extremely impactful and deserving. And, now...well, now we have Wiemer rediscovering his stuff. He's been coming on for over a week and tonight he put it all together. This doesn't even get into Turang. What wonderful problems to have.

Please no more Yelich vs LHP.  He sucks against LHP.  Basically an auto out.  Hiura would be a better option against LHP.

You know Mark A. wishes he had the coin to own the Dodgers.

That's what I love about the Packers. The people who own the team, love the team.

I'm on board with Mitchell who has the tools to solve the problem easy. Just pick one and do something. You just can't stay status quo. Hiura benched after one ofer is dumb but then again, the makeup of this roster has been poor since spring training. If you find a centerfielder, then you can sort things out from there.

Triple A hitting coach thinks Mitchell needs a little more time down there

Seems like the Brewers last couple of series the Brewers have been stuck with the absolutely awful umpire crews.

The umpires are making games almost nearly unwatchable.

Maybe Mark A can convince the Dodgers to do a Yellich for Bellinger swap while he's in town. Two dudes who could use a change of scenery.

Nah…..I’ll stick with Yelich.

My dad is an owner too. And he loves the team.

And someday I'll be an owner. But I hope it's a loooooong time before I'm an owner.

It’s funny that we simultaneously try to delay prospects coming up and also look to trade them away before they reach free agency. If we’re going to trade them in year 4, what difference does it make if we get that “extra year”?

If they can help the major league team win games they should be up.

I'll gladly try Ruiz and his 13 game hitting streak in that case.

Brewers playing the 36 year old DH instead of the 25 year old DH is very on brand.

Maybe they should send him down to give Nashville a ringer for its AAA Championship run.
