I love this site, but . . .

. . . I have to wait 20 seconds for each page to load. It is driving me crazy. This has been happening for a couple of weeks. I have two computers at my house and the same thing happens on both of them. I have a DSL connection, and no other website loads slowly.

 

I replaced my wireless-b router with a wireless-g router recently. I can't determine if this problem is a result of the switch.

 

I know there is another "slow load" thread, but there was no useful information in that thread, except for spanish lessons.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I really like this site, but I can't deal with the circa 1995 load times.

I noticed the same problem last week when I was at work and had to use Internet Explorer. When I got home, I tried IE also and it was so but I also have Firefox on my computer and that brought up the pages fast as lightning.

 

I'm so glad some of the great people here at BF.net showed me the way to Firefox.

 

Just a possibility that this is your problem, too.

If that were the case, I would think the page would not load at all.

my loads are a little slow at times as well...but its not that big of a deal.

Perhaps it would be worth checking with EZBoard to see if other users are experiencing the same sort of problems. They may have suggestions or an explaination for any slowness you experience.

My experience has been when the BF.net forums are slow in loading, all sites are slow in loading. My problems seem to be ISP related, not BF or EZBoard related.

Mine loaded ridiculously slow at work last week, where I use IE. At home and with firefox, though, I have no problems.

I have no problems with load times with either Firefox or Opera.

Foxfire and Opera are my two options. Honestly, i haven't used IE in almost a year.

I have IE and it takes about 30 seconds to load the fan forum page every time I come to the site...it's been this way for about a week and a half. It's realllly annoying.

Well, that 30 seconds is just a tick less than what it takes to download firefox, which has given me no problems thus far.

Well, for the first time in 3 weeks this board is loading lightning fast again. What did I do? Nothing, of course.

I just hope it stays this way.

 

BTW, eight game losing streaks really suck.
