I want to talk about game threads and if you participate in them, read this

Listen, literally the most complaints I get from users are about the game threads. It's a persistent problem but one that is hard to solve because we're all fans and we're passionate about the Brewers. That's not only okay, it's great! That's literally why you're all here and allowing this site to exist!

But the negativity is a problem. So let me frame this in a way that I think might be beneficial to everyone and the site as a whole.

Be mad when something goes wrong. You're a fan, that's fine! But if you want to grind out against a player - I'm just going to be blunt here and say Christian Yelich - keep it mostly out of the game threads if he just makes a routine out.

Instead, if you have something to say about a player, create a thread about it. Voice your opinion about the player and then talk to other users about it. You'll get pushback, you'll get agreement, you'll get a focused conversation about that topic.

But grinding out 162 with continual, repetitive negativity in game threads is going to force us to take action. That's the worst and most boring option we have. Please please PLEASE don't make us do this.

You're all fans, you're all passionate. That's amazing, I love that about you. But stop to think whether you've already ground that axe to a nub on a particular subject before going whole-hog on it in a game thread. We're all here to enjoy Brewers baseball, let's make the experience something other than awful.

Why the last paragraph?

As owner of this site - Are you truly qualified to make such a recommendation?

I’m okay with everything else in this post

I’m also okay with your comments in tonight’s game thread until you attempted to guide me & suggest that I take a deep breath - as I wrote in response, that is beyond your place - even if you are the site owner

You know, you’re right. The last paragraph was unnecessary. I’ll delete it immediately.

I also get frustrated and mad. This is my business. But I also try to acknowledge when I’m wrong. And I was wrong for that.

I have always felt the line is right where your perpetual tangent starts. If post about how the Brewer are cheap or that Yelich is garbage daily on the forum, please, spare the IGT from it.

I think passive aggressive positivity can be just as annoying or worse though. 'I told you so' type stuff is kind of annoying. Brewers make a miraculous comeback, and someone needs to reread 10 pages to find the poster that said the game was essentially over when it was 5-0 and quote it. I don't know why some make such an effort to try and take a good moment and figure out how to make it negative.

The IGTs have been fine from what I have seen. I suppose the Yelich talk can be excessive, but then again, so is the money we are paying him. People are flat out not going to be happy watching him as we watch Burnes/Woodruff/Adames walk because we can't afford them. I suppose I would rather people vent about Yelich in an IGT over having 20 threads about him.
