High-A Wisconsin goes for a 3rd straight victory over South Bend at home, with RHP Joseph Hernandez (3.71 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, 6.8 K/9 in 26.2 IP) making his 7th start. 2B Eric Brown Jr. has a 1.028 OPS over his last 46 PAs.

Wisconsin gets an early lead. Eric Brown Jr hit a single up the middle. He advanced to 2B on a groundout to 1B by Darrien Miller. Brown Jr then stole third and scored on a Ben Metzinger single to LF. 1-0 Wisconsin.

It feels like the energy/mood has shifted for this Wisconsin team. They seem to be playing much more loose this week. Maybe all they needed was a bit of warm weather.

Wisconsin up 2-0. More small ball from Brown Jr and Metzinger. Brown Jr reached on a single to LF then stole 2B. Metzinger drove him in from 2B with a single to CF.

Wisconsin gets their 3rd straight win! Edwin Jimenez and Kaleb Bowman combined to go 4 scoreless from the bullpen and a Doston single in the 8th inning to score Martinez from 2B to put the final score at 4-2.

It’s RHP Jacob Misiorowski (2.53 ERA, 0.75 WHIP, 16.0 K/9 in 10.2 IP) day, as Low-A Carolina goes for a 3rd consecutive victory over Fredericksburg at home. RF Kaylan Nicasia has walked in 8 straight games and hit safely in his last 5 games.

LHP Robert Gasser (5.47 ERA, 1.48 WHIP, 11.6 K/9 in 26.1 IP) is on the hill for AAA Nashville tonight, which needs a victory to grab a 3-2 series edge over Gwinnett at home. 3B Abraham Toro’s on-base streak has reached 29 games.

A win at home over Rocket City would extend AA Biloxi’s streak to 6 games. LHP Brandon Knarr (8.68 ERA in 9.1 IP) makes his 3rd start and 19-year old CF Jackson Chourio tries to build on yesterday’s 2-hit, 1-HR performance.

Jacob Misiorowski has retired the first 6 batters. Kaylan Nicasia walked (shocker) on 4 pitches and Matt Wood doubled him home. 1-0 Mudcats after 2 innings.

Carolina closed it out with a 6-1 victory.

Misiorowski ended up at 4 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 1 BB | 6 K while Nate Peterson piggybacked for 5 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 2 BB | 4 K of his own.

Nicasia (1-4, BB), Wood (3-4, 2B, BB), Guilarte (1-2, 2 BB), and Blayberg Diaz (2-4, 2B) all reached base multiple times.

Good news for Nashville, Gasser has a no no through 4 IP with 4 K.

Bad news, they are losing 1-0 nothing on account of walks, stolen bags and a sac fly.

Biloxi trailing 2-1 after six with a Warren HR, Valerio 3B, Black 1B and Chourio BB the only offense of the evening so far.

TJ Shook has thrown 3.2 IP of scoreless relief with 1 H | 0 BB | 2 K and is still on the mound top of seven.

I only saw him for three games last year in Appleton, but wasn’t super impressed with his defense at 3B.

Apparently he is a recent convert to the hot corner after entering college as a catcher so hopefully he should get better there with time.

The other thing to keep in mind is that he’s five months older than Brice Turang, which makes him almost two years older than the average player in the Midwest League (or whatever it’s called now)
