Lmao no doubt!  Thankfully the pitching doesn’t suck and the rest of the division is as mediocre as the Brewers are.  However, I still believe we end up 2nd or 3rd in the division.

The reds won 12 in a row at one point (or something like that) and we're still somehow (miraculously) in front of them. I'm living with the belief that the Cubs have to cool off at some point. If not, then it wasn't meant to be.

I mean, I can not exercise and not eat right and hope that I am in the same physical condition I was at 20.  Maybe I get lucky and have amazing genetics when I hit 50 and all of a sudden I can do all those things but in reality I know that isn't going to be the case unless every other dude my age, who is exercising and eating right, falls off a cliff before I do.  Has there been another team with an offense this bad that made the playoffs, much less won a World Series?  i don't know but I doubt it.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

Problem is we have virtually no power on the roster.

Isn't that something? They made an organizational decision to go away from power hitters to crap hitters instead. That'll play.

That's a pretty wild analogy you made there, but ok.

I didn't say the Brewers have a great offense. Or even a good one. Didn't even hint at it. All I said was the Cubs are hot right now, and maybe they'll cool off, as we're still (technically) in first place. That's all I said.

Good question.  It's hard to believe that we lead our division with a batting lineup that would be sad at the AAA level.

Brewers currently 23rd in R/G

Past 20 years
Teams to make playoffs with 23rd or lower scoring offense
2005 - HOU (24th), SDP (27th)
2006 - SDP (27th)
2007 - AZ (26th)
2008 - LAD (24th)
2014 - STL (24th)
2015 - STL (24th)
2016 - NYM (26th)
2020***** - STL (24th), CLV (25th), MKE (27th). CIN (28th)

Lowest ranked offense to win WS over that 20 year span
2010 SF and 2003 FLA (17th)

Over that 20 years 190 playoff spots, 12 went to teams with the 23rd or lower offense. (6.3%)

Take the 2020 weirdness out, and that's now 8 of 174 playoff spots. (4.6%)

That's certainly not encouraging. Wonder what kind of odds Vegas gives right now for a Brewers World series championship.

It’s hard to win when Santana and Adames are you 3/4 hitters. When do we move Adames to 9th in the order or pull the plug entirely? He’s one more 0-4 game away from falling below the Mendoza line.

BRef had them at 49% to make the postseason, and 0.4% to win the whole shebang as of this morning. That's not Vegas odds but it's at least a ballpark number.

Vegas currently has the Brewers at +3000 for winning the WS.

Interestingly, the Cubs are +10000, who seem like (at this point) a stronger bet.

Splitting the series with the Pirates at home is the responsible thing to do.  You really want to take small bites of the apple.

Just trying to be good hosts. They felt so bad about the season the Oakland A's were having they even let them win the whole series.
