What he said when he first came to Milwaukee doesn't matter. Things change. He's a human being, who's allowed to change his mind and go somewhere else.

Sure he can change his mind, but when someone say something and people believe them it's ok for the people who got spurned to feel a type of way. Thats a human thing too

I agree to disagree, because if those people truly understand he can change his mind, then they wouldn't hate him or feel spurned for him doing so. Newsflash, that's the hypocritical thing to do.

Lol. So apparently it's never ok to get upset at someone for saying one thing and then doing another because they just changed their mind.

SMH, of course it is, but, there's a big difference with being upset, and hating someone. Lol. He exercised his right to change his mind, and went to the Cubs. People REALLY need to grow up and get over it, because their lives WILL continue to go on. SMDH

Just for your information, Counsell doesn't care that you're upset about it, and hate him for it.

I'm done with this discussion.

Question for the mods - instead of ignoring/blocking posters, is there a way to ignore entire threads?

Thinking that may be more effective than having occasional bickering contests that stick at the top of the forum pages or shutting them down altogether if others are still interested in a topic or whatever back and forth is going on within it.

Of course, this is all in the context of sports fandom, nobody is saying Counsell leaving has ruined their life or anything but people saying Brewer fans shouldn't feel a certain type of way towards Counsell are ignoring the basic human nature. Counsell grew up a Brewer fan and in the city of Milwaukee and then left to go to their biggest rival and called it his "dream job". Of course most Brewer fans are going to be upset about that and most humans would react in a similar manner. Counsell is an adult who is free to make decisions on his own accord and you're right that he doesn't know who I am and he doesn't know who you are but trying to tell people how they should or shouldn't feel about it is just odd to me.

It's a forum. Differences in opinion are inevitable. Simple solution. Scroll past their comments.

I was wondering how long it would be before someone would think this, and ask. Lol NO! I'm not. I always said I thought Counsell was a "yes man" manager. Personally, I think he just got sick and tired of being that, and was beyond frustrated with the front office being penny and prospect pinchers when it came to getting that extra player or 2 to help put them over the top, during the couple years they had legitimate chances to have deep playoff runs.

I also have a strong feeling that there was animosity brewing between the front office, Stearns, and Counsell for at least a couple years. Hence, why both ended up leaving.

Who's to say Murphy won't end up being even better than Counsell?

You are not a mod. Stop derailing this thread.

FYI - I am a mod in case that wasn't clear.

So obviously I'm the only fan on this forum that has absolutely NO right to defend their opinions. So just because someone on here is a moderator, that means their opinions can NEVER be challenged ay?

Apparently this is a very clicky forum fan site now. No problem. I'm more than willing to leave then. And no, I'm not expecting anyone here to care. Way too many massive egos on here just because of a title. SMDH PEACE OUT!

Well that was fun. Back to Counsell taking a job with the Cubs...

Not yet but it is a feature we're considering adding. I've had a few requests for it but the tech is kinda tricky in surprising ways, not sure when we will get to it.
