The most noteworthy is Cousins leaving Minnesota for Atlanta. Gotta wonder what the Vikings plans are for QB. I think they draft #9 so they may spend that on a Nix or McCarthy type.

The Vikings are currently at the 11th pick.  The Bears have the 9th pick and the 1st pick in the draft.

I think the Vikings might have dodged a bullet there, Cousins got 100 million guaranteed and has one playoff win to show for all that money Minnesota payed him. Especially after he made a lot of talk about taking less to stay in Minnesota, it was time for them to move on. Too bad the Bears likely wouldn't trade Fields to them but they can draft a QB in the first and sign someone to start next year like Jimmy G.

The Bears may end up with a 6th round pick for Fields at this rate

Cousins still just the 10th highest paid QB. Seems like a good deal for both sides. Falcons offense gonna be scary good.

Arch Manning?

They are in the WORST position you can be in...IMO. They're nowhere near contenders. They could possibly cobble a team together and hope to eek into the playoffs. It'd probably fail, but they could try.

OR they could trade Jefferson for multiple 1sts, O'Neil would likely get them a late 1st from a team like SF, let the likes of Hunter walk, trade/cut Harrison Smith. I'd probably sign Darrisaw. Use this draft to draft more OL/DL...and they should probably trade back.

Clean the cap up so that in 2-3 years they can be where the Bears are now. Not exactly an enviable position, but the Bears have a ton of cap space, they have 2 top 10 picks in a draft that has 6-7 truly elite prospects(and they can probably get on at 9 as QBs will be over-drafted).

They won't though. They'll go and spend their FA money, they won't try and accumulate picks. They certainly won't care about supplemental picks. And next year they'll be picking ~8th-15th. Just like the Falcons have for years.

That's fine though. I don't mind watching the Vikings enter a state of total irrelevance. Especially while Detroit is good and Chicago has the assets to be in a couple years.

I'd like for Jones to go to Houston. Fun, young squad.

For me, it's really as simple as I hope he leaves the NFC North. Texans would be awesome.

I hope he can be a good passer for them.

I hate having to root against him, but yeah, the current trajectories of the franchises suggest we’re going to beat them like rented mules next year, so it makes little difference what anybody’s feelings are on the subject. He ended up going to a loser, albeit on a one-year deal.

That is the saddest part for me, actually: if he was going to leave, I was hoping somebody would throw a multi-year deal at him. I thought maybe one of the Texas teams, but Houston is too well-run now (shock) and McCarthy never appreciated him anyway. I get the economics of it all, but I hate him in purple and at only one year, seven mil—we’re essentially paying him to play against us. It just hurts.

It does hurt. I thought I'd heard the Packers were offering him around $7 million but maybe that was a misunderstanding on my part. I just don't feel like this was a great move for Jones even if he's making a million bucks extra. He could have stayed and been a valuable part of a team with every intention of contending or go play... there. A million bucks is a lot of money, I can't blame him for getting every dime he can. And I guess the Vikings could hit on a QB in the draft that helps them right away but even then I don't think they're contenders this season. It's a shame.

Jones just wasn’t durable enough and Packers O needs good RBs. It sucks he went to Vikes but I still think it was the right move.

Yup, pushing 30 and he was injured more often than not last year. That’s just not a good trend to depend on. When healthy, I’d take him over Jacob’s…but his days will quickly be numbered. Jacob’s can give long term stability too…Jones would have just put us in the same problem a year from now.

Jones is gonna get swallowed behind that terrible O-line. If there is one thing that the Packers do much, much better than the Vikings and Bears, it's draft and develop quality O-linemen. But those shiny Vikings WRs they seem to draft high every year sure are pretty ... ;)

Of course, they don't have anyone to throw it to them nor does that person have the time to throw it more than short routes. 😅

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Which means that Justin Jefferson will be demanding a trade at this time next year. The Vikings will get a 1st for him, which they will then use to draft another WR. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

I'm not convinced he will stay this year... There are already rumors vis-a-vie Rodgers/Adams.

Think JJ wants to have Darnold throwing him the pigskin?

That OL is...pretty solid. RT they're about the same as the Packers(though I think Tom is still ascending).
LT they're much better. They've got one of the best young LTs in the game.
Bradburry is a solid Center.

Not that I think it matters or makes the Vikings any type of threat...

I'm actually curious what they could get for Jefferson. I think it'd be 2 1sts. Probably better if they sign him for a record setting contract instead.
