Well, likely the last we've seen of Tyler Black in a Sounds jersey for awhile. Pipeline is reporting the Brewers have called him up for his debut.

Low-A Carolina hosts Royals’ affiliate Columbia, with 18-year old RHP Manuel Rodriguez (3.77 ERA in 14 1/3 IP) starting tonight’s opener. 1B Tayden Hall had 6 hits in his last 2 games and carries an 8-game hitting streak.

The AAA Sounds host Orioles’ affiliate Norfolk this week, with LHP Robert Gasser (4 IP, 1 ER, 5 Ks last week) starting tonight on the now-customary 5 days’ rest. LF Isaac Collins has a 7-game hitting streak, including homers in his last 2 games.

So TJ Shook is listed as the SP for Biloxi tomorrow. Previously the order had been Misiorowski-Blalock-Woessner-Shook-Peterson. Woessner is not listed as a SP for Biloxi at all this week. Are we officially on Woessner promotion watch or maybe nursing a small injury?

High-A Wisconsin is also home this week, facing a battle against Dodgers’ affiliate (and fellow league leaders) Great Lakes (14-7). 23-year old LHP Tate Kuehner (7.71 ERA with 12 Ks in 7 IP). LF Luis Lara and RF Eduarqui Fernandez both have 6-game batting streaks.

Nashville’s media notes for today list Tyler Woessner as their projected Thursday starter. Woo hoo!!!

This is the second outing in a row RHP Manual Rodriguez came to the hill in control of his arsenal. It's also the second consecutive outing where I've said to myself: "This young man has several tools in his pitching arsenal." I really enjoy watching him pitch. Just very calm, in control, and really knows how to nibble around the zone. He can hurl that cutter and then also give a high rising, nice ride, four-seamer to counter its movement. As he did to get the broken bat groundout to Pratt at SS. That's a 1-2-3 first frame. 2 groundouts and a K of the Royals' highly touted Mitchell.

Lead-off Guilarte triple bagger. Man he hit that a lot harder than it seemed - 101 mph off the bat. Low off the right CF wall. The CF'er had no clue what to do with that ball. Noice!

Sharply hit 0-2 groundout to 2B and Yophery gets his 15th RBI of his season. 1-0 Mudcats. Nice piece of hitting to get hard contact there.

I honestly think the Brewers recognize they need to accelerate these talented arms given the dearth of Starters with meaningful upside who have touched Triple-A and their ongoing dilemmas at the MLB level. They need options in the next couple of years and these promotions just make sense.

I'll say it again: Rodriguez is just working his mix right now. Gorgeous stuff. If you've never seen him pitch, he essentially has a cutter, four-seamer, really nice curve, and a change-up. Within that change-up and fastball mix he seems to have several different ways he can spin it or bring it. Just a fun pitcher to watch.

2nd K for Rodriguez and they nearly get the strike him out throw him out dp to end the frame. Instead we have a runner in scoring position with two down. The same runner steals 3rd. We are up 1-2 after another beautiful curve dips below the inner half of the zone.
