  1. Things can obviously change very quickly but Priester doesn't look like a guy who will be ready any time soon
  2. Thank you for being one of the few to acknowledge how good the NL Central has become. It was easily the 2nd best division in baseball last year behind the AL East. I'm tired of the NL Central being looped in with the AL Central as the little brother division when the NL Central has consistently been much better than the AL Central in the recent past and now the NL Central looks more like a powerhouse division filled with young talent all over the division.
  3. @Matthew Trueblood Do you think it's a coincidence that Mitchell is doing the worst he's ever done in his career against pitches in the upper third while also doing the best he has in his career in general? I was talking about this over on BCB but part of me wonders if just accepting he's terrible against pitches up and not trying to reduce whiff or hang against them more could be a net positive if he's doing so much better in the rest of the zone and laying off pitches out of the zone. It makes him a more extreme and polarizing profile but that might be the profile that is best for Mitchell?
  4. Per the broadcast the last time it happened was 2015. Hector Gomez and Gerardo Parra did it back to back
  5. Ortiz has had a lot of lows as a hitter but that might just be the lowest
  6. Turang showing off and getting the lead runner there up 11 runs is pretty funny. He's so good.
  7. I can't believe the broadcast was trying to blame Hamilton for that play. Turang needs to leave that ball for the SS
  8. One request, if you are linking to a video can you please post timestamps or use a timestamped link like @MilwaukeeBeers did with his link in the OP.
  9. Need to take care of business these next two games before we face Skubal on Thursday.
  10. 4 DRS to 2 DRS favoring Hoerner. 1 baserunning run to 0 favoring Hoerner. That's your gap in WAR despite Turang hitting a bit better. Also Turang missed a couple games due to ankle tendinitis so Hoerner has 13 more PA than him.
  11. Pitching at Charlotte has to be one of the worst places to pitch in pro baseball. No humidor because it's AAA and just laughably small park dimensions.
  12. Yeah I was thinking $40M to buy out his final 3 years of Arb. 8, 12, 20 per year so 8/210 would leave 5/170 for buying out FA which is 34M a year which feels quite steep. Feel like it's tough to find comps because not many players sign extensions when they have already hit Arb. Personally speaking, I think the Brewers should extend Turang. He's shown the bat is legit at this point I think. I think he's the type of guy we should trying to keep around like a Braun/Yelich.
  13. That feels a bit steep no? Turang you'd be buying out 3 years of Arb. Nico's entire contract was buying out FA years.
  14. Bulldog I’m sorry but it’s 2026, using batting average to determine if a hitter is good or not is remotely accurate to describe hitter quality.
  15. The guy had a wRC+ over 130 just two days ago.
  16. Brewers will be much better off when guys like Matos, Jones, Perkins, and Lockridge are off the big league roster.
  17. You don't understand why fans might be more lenient towards a guy having a slow start coming off a 114 wRC+ season than a guy having a slow start coming off a 67 wRC+ season?
  18. Don't have time to look into the numbers but you can find minor league statcast data through the minor league search feature on baseball savant. Here's a link - https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/statcast-search-minors
  19. I'd say there's a chance Crow stays up and just moves to the bullpen. I think it depends on how he pitches today. If he has a short outing and they burn a lot of the pen then they probably swap him out for a fresh arm. If he pitches well and goes like 5 innings and the pen is in fine shape then he might stay up and get pushed into the pen.
  20. Diaz still has another year of control after this year so don't think Tampa would be trading him unless they are out of the race and trying to save some money. Even then Diaz is a 1B/DH so not a great fit on our roster unless Vaughn just isn't the same guy post hamate injury.
  21. Peoria doing unholy things to the Timber Rattlers pitching staff tonight
  22. Ebel has gotten off to a slow start in his pro career. Between this year and last he's slashing .172/.297/.183 in 111 PA. Only one extra base hit.
  23. Signing him to that contract is about 7-10 years from now buying out FA years. That doesn’t mean he’s ready now. You don’t sign these guys for immediate payouts.
  24. Vinny Rottino is such a homer. Claims he doesn't see anything wrong with Megill's stuff when his velo, spin, and stuff+ are all considerably down.
