AND, just like that, Holub loaded the bases. Gave up an 0-2 deep sac fly. Then gave up an 1-1 line drive 1-run knock. I continue to say: I don't see it. When I see the same issues outing after outing, I'm going to call it like I see it. He's pulled early again.

Shane Smith after giving up a single, double, single in his 2nd inning? Infield popout and 5 straight strikeouts. He strikes out the side in the 7th on 14 pitches.

Yophery works a long AB and hits a flyball to RF which would have been plenty deep enough to score a run if Guilarte could have advanced the Manfred runner.

Pratt strikes out as well. Mudcats have been struck out 19 times through 11 innings. Bayden Root has to be pretty upset having tossed 2 scoreless innings in extras only for the bats to put 2 balls in play in 2 innings.

Jeison Pena throws a scoreless 12th inning despite giving up 2 hits because Yophery Rodriguez gunned down a runner at home on a single to CF. Maybe Carolina will put the ball in play a few times in the 12th.

Hey good job Tayden Hall. Grounder to 2B to advance the runner. 2B botches the routine play and we have runners on the corners with 0 outs.

Juan Baez walks it off with a chopper up the middle that gets through with the infield in. Mudcats win!

The best part here? He didn't have to try and be the Winning Run! Am I rite or am I rite?!

Incredible, very improbable, victory. Kudos to the young men. What a 'W'.

Stowers just took Thompson deep - 415' on to the grass berm on a slider that found too much middle. 6-1 Tides. 10th HR of his season. Ridiculous.

Yeager on to try and close it out. He is nearly immediately robbed of a strike after a lead-off punch out. The pitch very clearly hit the knob of his bat. Home plate ump calls it a ball?!? Count goes full BUT obviously, he already struck out. Unreal.

Also, the play of that game? We both know...Yophery's OF assist. When you are in a contact struggle at the dish - when you're seeing pitches...laying off pitches...working counts BUT just can't find that contact...to impact a tight game like that? Chef's kiss. What an unbelievable play by both he and Garcia. The thing is, tho, Garcia's hold and tag was incredible absolutely YES BUT the throw has to literally be right there and pretty much only there. Unreal. I'll see if I can't get us a highlight.

YEP. We got it right here:

Just look at that all business charge. Look at the accuracy. Look at the hold and tag. It simply had to be right there. AN incredible Assist. An incredible tag and hold by Garcia. Just an unreal moment in an incredibly tight game. THAT is what we call: winning baseball.

K.C. Hunt alert. Timestamp: 2:32:33. Bookend K's ridiculous. Eats a pitch clock violation in his 6th batter faced (2 3-up, 3-down innings so far) on an 0-2 count. Comes back and just deals another ridiculous change-up/breaking ball to a lefty. He knew it. I knew it. Just plain nasty. Love LOVE LOVE it. And, I know, so will you. 4 K through 2 IP. The man is ready for High-A. Lets just get him there.

I was watching live this time! He looks very good right now. May or may not be featured in a certain relief pitcher of the month article in the next day or two 🙂
