Murphy really should have known where that ball was going to be hit though

I agree with the opinion that he was waaaaay too deep for the game-tying hit. But yeah, if he flies out to the warning track no one says a peep. These last couple pages are a fullout attack with hindsight bombs.

Other than the positioning mentioned above, the 2nd biggest legitimate complaint might be running a guy out there who threw 40 pitches yesterday rather than Blalock.

I thought Chourio either got a bad jump on it or was playing to deep because that was not a blooper that fell in front of him.

WAAAAAY too deep for a RHH.

I was as pissed as anyone when I saw him pull up. But he pulled up because he wasn't catching the ball.

Much of this was no doubt touched on, but a few thoughts:

Overall, when you're both insufficient and unlucky the same night it's pretty tough to overcome.

I'm probably in the minority but I was fine with the Yelich bunt in the 10th. The Ortiz bunt was more questionable but IMO not in the "Murphy is a moron" category. If you're going to be hesitant to bunt there then Adames should be hitting where he probably would be for most teams--7th or 8th.

I thought the BP was managed really well given the impossible circumstances. I would've brought Peguero out for the 8th, but Hudson threw a scoreless frame anyway so no complaints.

I'm sure there's consternation about the lineup but the people I suspect were complained about had 3 of the 4 hits. I'm saying that while admitting I would've played Turang.

Kudos to Yelich for seeing that Willy was at the plate w/one out & deciding the best chance to score is to try to steal home.

They should have just used Blalock instead of burning the entire bullpen. Maybe we lose, but the pen stays fresh. Now we lose and our pen is absolutely gassed for the rest of the series. Not sure what the point of calling up Blalock was if we weren't going to use him in a situation where it was super common sense to use him.

I expected an inning or 2 from Koenig, then Blalock. But I'm not sure who isn't available tomorrow of the guys used other than Koenig (probably optioned) & White. Not saying they won't stay away from people, but I think Wednesday could be the big issue if tomorrow doesn't go well.

That is all on the manager - Murphy

Picking 3 Packers coaches from 25-50 years ago.... all of who had losing records.... honestly, that's impressive reach sir!

Spontaneous … without thought … just remembering coaches my of other favorite sports team who made me feel like Murphy as Brewers manager

Is Murphy just Adrian Griffin?

This is actually an amazing comparison

Griffin had a winning record but anyone watching the team could see that he was clueless

The Bucks won in spite of Griffin - not because of him

Hiring Doc Rivers certainly wasn’t the solution

Replacing Murphy during the season may not be the best option either with no ideal option to take his place

That doesn’t mean he deserves to to be the Brewers manager … but now that he is I hope he stops being cute & clever & starts making wise strategic decisions

… and don’t get me started on our “Associate Manager” Rickie Weeks 🫤

I also was expecting Koenig to go 2 innings to give Blalock an extended time to warm up like he's used to doing. I don't think they option Koenig. Murphy thinks of Koenig as a middle reliever not a shuttle guy (which is fine because he's earned that role). Maybe they DFA White? Ross is likely going on the IL so they could just call up Herget or Junk instead. Then have Myers come up the next time Ross's spot is up in the order.

DFA for White is a good guess. I like Koenig & like the idea of him being more of a mainstay but I wonder if not having him available for a few days will weigh heavily in the decision.

I wish Hall was further along.

Would like to know what the plans are for Vieiras' 40-man spot.

Not to turn this into a discussion on the Bucks but... AG was fired because he couldn't get along with guys.

Had nothing to do with results, they were 30-13 with Griffin and he was winning 70% of the time.... and then they ended up going 19-20 without him.

Like the Brewers with Murphy, The Bucks won in spite of Griffin being clueless & making poor in game decisions

It was not an “easy fly ball”. Per statcast it was a 0% catch probability. lol

Not that I fully buy it was 0%, but you have to remember JC’s speed gets him to balls the average RFer doesn’t get to.

Yeah I don't buy the whole 0% catch probability thing.  I don't know who comes up with that.  I watched with my two eyes and saw a ball that could have been caught but it would've taken a diving attempt.  The Marlins announcers thought the same thing.  If he dives and doesn't come up with it, it is what it is, but you have to give an effort there.

I'll give him some credit in that I'm sure his thoughts were, I'm not going to make it, I could dive and maybe catch it, but if I miss it and it gets by me, that's game.  Now with how it bounced, the hitter probably doesn't score, but how many crucify him if that does happen?

The Brewers get a breather against the last-place Marlins, hopefully they can take advantage of it.

So much for being a breather series.
