Woessner doing the crazy velo fluctuation thing again. Wasn't giving up much contact early in the start when he was 93 early in his outing. He's been more 89-90 the last two innings and is really struggling.

Man, remember back in ST when he was touching 97-98?!? What a let down since his promotion to Nashville. Hopefully, he's not playing through injury..

That was my worry with his inconsistency and variable velocity.

ugh. I hope not

On a side note - earlier I was going to post about 17 yo Melvin Hernandez pitching into the 6th inning for the first time. But chose not to fearing I would jinx him. Sadly even thinking about posting caused a jinx, as he gave up,hits, left the game and was tagged for more runs. Arizona Brew Crew down 8-1 with still only one out. Reliever Valero giving up runs unfortunately and now outs. Hernandez had pitched 5.1 innings well until this one inning fell apart. Ugh 9-1 now. But at least out #2 thanks to Dikember Sanchez.

I'd be worried about injury if this wasn't how all of 2023 was for Woessner. He was super inconsistent start to start and even within starts with his velo last year.

This is absolutely True.

Frustrating.

The wacky DSL home run totals has got me thinking that maybe the new complex has favorable wind or something?

I don’t remember us ever having this many homers over a month down there, let alone a week.

Jose Anderson is 11/23 with 3 2Bs and 4 HRs.

Kevin Garcia is a 16 year old catcher that is 3/10 with 3 HRs.

What is going on?

If that is the case, the Brewers' pitchers have been doing a great job keeping the ball in the ballpark. The two Brewers clubs have combined to hit 11 homers but have only given up 5.

The key is going to be keeping it up and keeping the power going when they hopefully come stateside next year. Only three Brewers have hit more than 6 home runs in a DSL season since they brought back the DSL squads. Alejandro Marte (9) and Alwinson Valdez (7) never hit another affiliated home run. Eduarqui Fernandez, the current record holder, hasn't managed to match the 11 he hit in any season since (although he might be on pace this season). Among prominent prospects, Orlando Arcia had 6 (3 the first week or so, 3 the rest of the season), Yophery  Rodriguez had 6 and Jackson Chourio had 5.

Pena's SB totals are wrong. I'm not sure how it happened, but I noticed it a few games ago. I thought my mind was playing tricks on me, so I went back through every box score for Brewers Uno.

On the 11th, he was credited for one SB, for a total of 12 --- which I believe was actually a correction from earlier, as I swore I saw 13 the game before (which was so crazy that I made a mental note).

On the 12th, he didn't play... still at 12

Yesterday, with 2 more SBs, he should be at 14. But in the boxscore it says 15.

On his MiLB page, it credits him with two SBs on the 11.

All this to say. I've officially got too much time on my hands if I'm sifting through DSL boxscores for inconsistencies.

Also! I had no idea KC Hunt was going to be a starter... Luke Adams is going .315/.500/.657 in June so far.
