Nashville still hasn’t gotten a runner in scoring position, but they’ve taken a 2-0 lead on C Eric Haase’s 108.2mph 2-run homer in the top of the 5th inning, scoring DH Wes Clarke (who’d singled).

A 2-out dumped single (69.8mph exit velo) was followed up by a 2-run opposite field blast to tie it up off Patrick in the bottom of the 6th inning.

Nashville and Gwinnett are now in the 8th inning, still tied 2-2. What an outing by Hendo. My goodness.

The Timber Rattlers blow it open in the top of the 9th. Eduarqui Fernandez hit a solo HR to LF. Then you have a Doston walk, O'Rae bloop single, Lara HBP to load the bases and Luke Adams clears them with a bomb off the scoreboard in LF. 7-2 Timber Rattlers.

Have a series, Mr. Adams!

Enough of the Miz worries. Let's talk about the two Biloxi starters actually stepping up and ripping it every start:

RHP's Logan Henderson and Shane Smith

My goodness Hendo. What a 10K gem.

You cut it right before Luke took his helmet off and then proceeded to headbutt O'Rae who was very much wearing his helmet still 😂.

His fiery and excitable attitude is infectious, I love watching him play.

Yup. You know who else absolutely loves him? The Whitecaps announcers. They've been having a riot watching his infectious enthusiasm and quirks all series. They were particularly focused on him Wednesday night. Whitecaps have a good time in the booth - I've enjoyed their calls quite a bit.

OF Lamar Sparks is very quietly having an incredible month of June - especially considering spot playing time in the early going and batting very low in the order. You have to love the rebound from a truly horrendous April. He even has a very respectable 7:4 K:BB ratio...which, if you know Sparks' game, is pretty remarkable. 10-for-29, 7 R, 3 RBI, 3 2B. 1 HR, 4 BB, 7 K, 0.345 BA, 0.976 OPS.

That’s a real rough loss for Carolina, who’d finally grabbed the lead in the bottom of the 8th inning.

Having entered Thursday’s games with a Magic Number of only 3, that number is unchanged 3 days later (though it’s unclear to me who would win a tiebreaker with Lynchburg).

Manager Stanley’s choice of Harrison Durow for the 9th (last pitched June 12) wasn’t a surprise, though he might have preferred recently-reliable Aidan Maldonado (last pitched June 13).

Complicating matters is the fact they’re essentially out of starting pitchers for the week. 18-year old Manuel Rodriguez threw 93 pitches on Tuesday. If he’s healthy, don’t be surprised if 18-year old Hayden Robinson (last pitched June 6 in the ACL) gets promoted and starts.
