17" of run on the sinker for Yoho tonight. 19 " of run on the change-up sitting upper 70's low 80's. Slider 22" of run away from bats. 20-of-29 Double-A outs via K. He gets a K swinging at the slider.

Wehrle has put a lot of runners on the bases in his relief work. He's had the bases juiced on two separate occasions. He got an inning ending DP in his first scenario. He got consecutive pop outs to 1B foul territory to end the next. T-Rats got nothing going offensively and trail 6-1 late.

Ernesto just ripped a 105 mph comebacker right off RHP Raffi Vizcaíno's back. OUCH! That's Martinez's third knock of his evening. That'll force the righty to leave the game under his own power.

Sounds lose 2-0. What an ugly performance at the dish. They were over-matched by the Jumbo Shrimp arms all night. The game ends on a swinging Hicklen K stranding Clarke (BB) at 1B.

The early inning miscommunication on the infield chopper between O'Rae and EBJ (they nearly collided) comes back to haunt Yeager. A 98 mph 391 foot liner over the LF wall now sees the Shuckers clinging to a 5-4 game. Two down. That HR can't happen. 0-2 count. Men on 1st and 2nd. He hung a slider center cut. Belt high. Poor execution.

And, he gets the K swinging on an inside slider down into the dirt. The pitch he likely should have offered 0-2 before the long ball.

Anywho, Shuckers are 1-0 to start the second half!

RHP Stiven Cruz saw a high heater tagged for a two-run blast over the RF wall. The T-Rats clawed back those two runs with two two out runs in their bottom half of the ninth. But, despite only being outhit 11-10 the T-Rats fall 8-4. Valerio ripped a very deep long ball over the LF wall to plate Areinamo who had ripped an oppo double to the RF wall. Valerio's first HR back with the Rattlers to start 2024. Just the 40th long ball of the T-Rats season - 10% of which have come against these South Bend Cubbies.

Next pitch 99.1. Next pitch 99. He has thrown two curve balls now - one 3 feet up and out of the zone and the next one about 6 ' high and outside the zone to the backstop. He then walks the batter with two down on a 101 mph inside heater. The velo is back tonight. The curveball? Absolutely not early.

shuckers are going to be fun in the second half

Trailing 4-2. Bitonti on 3B (BB, WP, WP). Antony Gomez on 1B (BB). One down. We were deprived of a possible ACL Special comeback for the Crew. Instead? The Game was delayed and called (weather, most likely?). Crew take the abbreviated 'L' 4-2.

Boooooo! Who other than 21-year-old Felipe De Los Santos to take the 'L'. Man, he has had a rough rough ACL season.

Apparently Yeager made ‘em sweat. Singles, out, out ,single, the 3 run HR. 5-4 holds for the victory.

Yes he did. And the 3-run HR was an 0-2 mistake pitch. BUT, he was also hung out to dry earlier in the inning on a routine but tricky chopper over the mound that ate up both O'Rae and ABJ. The inning would have been over before that HR in other words. O'Rae had a play on it. EBJ felt he had a play on it. They almost collided. AND, they both deferred at the last moment and neither actually made a play. They both gave way to the other as the ball dribbled to the shallow grass and gave the runner 1B.
