Yeager 3 up and 3 down. Shuckers with a big come back win.

Hopefully that’s a theme tonight - comeback wins for the good guys.

Boy did Maldonado look nasty tonight. Sheeesh. He was throwing some off-speed yowza. Really nice form. The Mudcats pull one out of the hat and Win 2-1. That's Maldonado's 5th Save (?) recalling here.

Muddies would agree! They hopped aboard that train baby.

Adams take the bat off his shoulder and what do you know-a single up the middle.

Baby steps. Baby steps to first base. Can't take that lumber off that shoulder and go yard. Baby steps.

Would love the big boys in Milwaukee. But not likely. Ugh

I just saw the Bryse slider. Outside but that's belt high. In that count? Don't like that pitch. Ugh.

Whoever wrote that 'The Brewers system doesn't strike out piece!' needs to take a breather tonight. LOL. It's strikeout city in Nasvhille and it twas for Carolina. LOL.

Man Patricio Aquino has been so good since he's moved into this piggyback starter role. After a really rough start to the season his ERA is down to 3.89.

Aquino with a 4 inning save. Shutout combo with Cornielle/Aquino and yes some Ks in tha game ; 11K by the two of them to only 2BB.

Absolutely agreed. Way more in control of his stuff. He's taken to the bullpen long relief role with aplomb. Love it. When he's on, and locating, he has more than enough movement on his pitches to get swings and misses. I think he was pressing and overworking. He just looks so much more relaxed and poised since the shift.

Man, my Nashville stream quality just stinks tonight. I'm getting booted left and right to a full reset. Only stream I've had any issues with. Annoying.

What about Cornielle. Since his rough April, he has had 9 starts, almost 49 IP, and only 8 ER, and only 28 hits. With a K:BB of 41:18. Can cut down on the walks a bit, but that’s quite a run.

Cornielle very very quietly having a return to the conversation in 2024. He's been consistent and generally fantastic. He doesn't have overwhelming strikeout stuff but he can definitely get the whiffs. I'd still like to see him ultimately get to that 94-95 place but currently we are seeing more 91-93. He'll turn 23 in late August.

Jinx!

The walks are still a mild issue - not as significant an issue as they once were but he has a lot of movement on his slider and his sinker. It's a matter of refinement. His slider can often travel way outside the zone. The difference this season has been people can't hit him. His WHIP is a cumulative 1.09 but he's only giving up essentially a 0.200 BA. That's absurdly good.

The Nashville Stream is still a latency train wreck on my end but  I heard enough of Jeff Hem's call to 'see' that Wiemer hit a first pitch solo jack to start the fifth half for the Sounds.

Yeah, I can't get a good quality out of Nashville tonight. Chalk that one up to 'technology' - the ongoing Brewers system woes of 2024. Had zero issues with other streams this evening. Going to have to Game Log watch the remainder.

It would appear ol friend Brewer Hicklen followed Wiems with a two-run jack of his own. The Sounds lead 3-1 in the top of the 7th. AND, what's that you say? A scoreless inning of RHP Tyler Woessner relief? Shiver me timbers.

Anthony Flores of Brewers ACL might be the most confusing pitchers in the system this year. He has a strong K-rate with a pretty good BB-rate but his ERA is right around 8 with opponents having a BABIP near .500 against him. Through 3 innings tonight he has 7 strikeouts, but 4 hits against for an opponent BABIP of .667

The ACL Crew are putting together a mini rally here in the 7th after they lost their lead the inning before. It was 5-5 coming into the frame. They've plated three two out RBI off the bats of SS Tyler Rodriguez and 1B Johan Barrios. It's now an 8-5 Crew lead. Let's hope they can pull it out!

If the ACL Crew can hold on in the desert, despite the Brewers getting absolutely shellacked, we are looking at a likely 5-0 night of affiliated baseball. The Sounds just shut the door 3-1 (RHP Ryan Middendorf Save). ACL crew lead 8-5 with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd.

9 balls in play against Anthony Flores tonight with 7 of them going for hits. This is actually crazy.

Sorry I was wrong. 8 balls in play and 7 of them going for hits.

He gets a pop out and ground out to end it so Reds hitters had a .700 BABIP against Flores tonight.
