He gets a pop out and ground out to end it so Reds hitters had a .700 BABIP against Flores tonight.

The good news is, last year there were two ACL pitchers with strikeout rates of at least 24% and BABIPs against of at least .390 in the ACL. Although neither was as extreme as Flores, both the Reds’ Jose Montero and the Brewers’ Yorman Galindez have posted BABIPs against below .300 in A-ball this season.

After tonight Flores K-rate is 29% and BB-rate is 10%. There are 4 other Complex league pitchers with 30 IP putting up those rates or better. Their ERA are 2.14, 2.70, 3.58, 4.64. Flores ERA after tonight is 7.79. He only has 2 HR against and 4 HBP so it’s not like he’s giving up a bunch of HR or HBP. It’s a bit mind boggling.

From the T-Rats post-game write-up:

Areinamo became the first Wisconsin hitter to collect three doubles in a game since Joantgel Segovia on May 3, 2018 at Lake County.

There's a name I haven't thought of in quite awhile.

From the Sounds post-game article:

  • The Sounds bullpen combined for seven scoreless innings tonight. The pen leads Triple-A in ERA (3.60) and is tied for the lead in WHIP (1.35) with Omaha.

Kudos to the greater pitching development the Brewers have across their organization. The Lab is fully operational.

It's quite impressive to see the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers keep churning out wins, despite:

  • only having 26 players on the active roster (they could have up to 30).
  • having the youngest average age in the Midwest League (per BRef based on games played to date).
  • having a roster which can be perceived as relatively light on top prospects, with only Lara, Adams and maybe Areinamo getting love.

They're 9-2 over their last 11 games. Way to go T-Rats!
