Matt Canha is gonna be a cheap add if we want him again. 
 

Adames for Bobby miller or for Justin Wroblewski and the injured Sheehan tickles me better than the #38 overall comp pick we would get when Willy signs a 150-200 million deal elsewhere in November.

Kikuchi is my guy though in the starters pool.   If he only costs Wiemer and Bitoni or something of that like, I’m game for that.

I'd be willing to bet my life savings that Adames is a Brewer come next week. It's really fan fiction to think otherwise at this point. 

I'm all for buying as we have a 6 game division lead and 85% playoff odds and that situation doesn't come around as often as we think despite how spoiled we've been the last 7 years. But I also realize that we're just entering a real WS contention window here, so it has to be done responsibly. I agree that ideally you want guys with multiple years of control. At the same time, those guys cost more so who knows.

How much do the playoffs chances go down trading Willy and having Ortiz and Turang up the middle though?  With a six game lead in the division we sit?   Willy is on another team come November regardless….

With Willy being our best player this year, they'd go down by quite a bit on top of Yelich being out. They also have no one to replace Ortiz at 3B if you move him to SS. It's just not going to happen.

Why is it Wisconsin teams are thought to have less backbone than any other city pro teams?  Like we need stabilization of our pro teams situation as (playoff ish) at the expense of maybe making a smart as heck deal.  Really bothers me.   Other cities around the country can stomach a controversial deal with biggish rewards on the near back end, but our fandom and even our management can’t.

I would be concerned that a trade of Adames at this stage of the season would produce a collapse similar to the one after the Hader trade. 

It sends a signal to the players that the front office doesn’t think the team can win and also sheds a player who is probably the team’s biggest mentor and emotional leader.
