Thurs. 9/12: Do-or-Die for Mudcats; T-Rats Sweep? Shuckers Scheduled for Two

It's really a shame because the Mudcats pitching has looked really good and the difference in this game is because of a wild pitch by Rodriguez than Diaz blocked but then couldn't find despite being about 2 to 4 feet to his left.

This is exactly how I anticipated the Sykora innings to go. And, this is precisely why I was so confused by Stanley's Game 1 approach.

I'll be honest I was also a bit surprised they weren't playing the infield in with a runner on 3rd and 1 out in the 1st inning. They got a ground ball hit right at Guilarte. Infield in and there's probably a play at the plate there.

I also remain entirely amazed by the long leash given to Di Turi who is very clearly still living and breathing off of his DSL/ACL work. He just has not been all that good as a Mudcat. You can see the innate skill, most definitely. But the results do not lie and in his long slump his swing decisions have fallen off the map.

The Woodward and Adamczewski injuries loom so large in what should be seen as a two game set. That's two extremely skilled players rehabbing in Arizona.

Sykora's season line against the Mudcats up to 20 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 3 BB, 27 SO, 1 HBP. Just absolutely dominating this Mudcats lineup and looks like he's on pace to go 6 innings.

That's truly insane. One might ask. They might...why he is sitting in Low-A at this juncture. But, what do I know? I'm just a guy who watches Minor League baseball.

Mudcats clinging to a 2-0 lead in Game 1 in a scheduled seven-inning affair. Top of 5th, after a groundout to 3rd, Kuehner walked his 3rd and 4th batters. Two on, one out. We have a mound visit.

Three BIG At-Bats in a row by the Shuckers: Miller 10-pitch single, Wilken 0-2 RBI double (off the right fielder’s glove on a deep fly), Martinez 2-run double. Clutch!! 5-3 Biloxi in the 5th

And O’Rae got it started with a 0-2 single. Win this!!
