IT IS. LOL. My voice entry auto-corrected. That's hilarious.

That is  hilarious. Ok. I will probably now confuse these two names all season long. LOL

Whoops - somehow I thought he was the big mammal, my bad earlier.

And he keeps the K parade going. 15 outs, and 13 of them via the K.

You guys are actually both wrong. It's Large Mammal.

Let's just call him 'Dan'. Then we'll look less like complete morons. 🤣

Whoops. LOL.

I will still screw this up a few times this year.

COOPER PRATT. Man, what a night. After two ridiculously weak infield pop outs Pratt follows up with an RBI poke into shallow right CF. That liner gives him a 3-for-3 night. Love it. 5-1.

Cooper Pratt having a night. A big RBI single, well struck ball and it's 5-1 Shuckers. Earning their H back, no "Suckers" tonight.

Wilken hits it well down the line but right at his defensive counterpart at third. Inning over with no further runs. But nice at bats by Murray and Pratt, and Wilken just missed a hit I think.

Lansing is making it mildly interesting in the bottom of the 9th. A fielding error at SS after a Wood line drive single opened the frame put two on. Now a passed ball advanced both runners to 2nd and 3rd. Nobody down for Eduardo Garcia. They still trail 6-2.

Brock with another nice play. Shifted to SS and gets to the 3rd base side, fields it well and very nice throw. His defense looks legitimate in the few games I caught this year. I see him staying in at 3B, hopeful his bat can get going and he can regain that prospect status.

"Dan" works around a 2-out walk. A nice catch by Murray.

That's 2 innings of relief for Mr. Merkel - the large or big mammal.

I think it's actually 'Hairy Mammoth'?

Rough night for the T-Rats offense. They got the two men on with nobody out. They did nothing with it. Nicasia went down on a poor check-swing pseudo-swing in a 2-2 count to end the game. They lose 6-2.

Luke Adams still has a ways to go. He is not getting fully untracked. But tonight he took his bat off his shoulders, and make solid contact. Only one was a hit, but he is swinging and making average contact. If he can start to swing at those  mistakes, and make a little more contact (maybe a timing thing?) he will get his offense going.  I still have faith in him, as he has that look of a 'ball player, and does have size and athleticism. Just too passive at lower levels, and now still not making as much contact, but tonight he looked much better than first week of games when he looked out of place. I know I just jinxed him here, but Adams can overcome even my jinxes.

OK. Mr. Nick Merkel is not liking our discussion of his nickname, and as protest has led to a 4 pitch walk and then a HBP. So now 2 on, no out in the bottom of 7. Still 5-1 Shuckers lead. Merkel will have another batter or two as they have another reliever going in the bullpen.

Posted

Wild strike out. The Baron hitter (Gladney) checks his swing, and the ball nicks the end of the bat, and caught by Miller, so technically a foul tip strike.  Lets see if Merkel can get another couple big outs here.

Posted

Well, Merkel gets one big out. Pop up to Murray. And that is the end of his night. Good relief effort for Mr Merkel.

Tyler Bryant is in to pitch. An indy league signing last season who had some electric outings in A-ball (both levels) last year.

RHP Tyler Bryant has been absurdly off to start 2025. Sad face for this ol' farmer. He comes aboard a two on and two out scenario and rips a four pitch walk and the last pitch was in the dirt. He opens the next batter 1-0. He just is not sharp. Hopefully, he can dig deep and get out of this now bases loaded jam.

Posted

And Bryant not sharp - He throws 5 straight ball. Gives up the walk to load the bases.

Then gets a couple of swinging strikes.  Big at bat here. Bryant needs to get this batter, no room for error.

And ... just missed on a breaking ball. 2-2 count now.  And ... foul.. next pitch and BIG SWING and MISS!

Hugh K there Tyler yes sir!

Ok. There we go. Two 95 mph inside heaters, in the zone, for swinging strikes. 1-2 count. Another high inside heater at 95 mph fouled back. 1-2 count again. He is facing another lefty here. He rips a beautiful outside slider but it dips below the zone. Nice 1-2 pitch. 2-2 count now. Another heater - 96 mph on the gun. Fouled back. 2-2. He gets the swingin K on a gorgeous heater on the upper corner of the zone at 96.06 mph. Whewwww. That was big time. Great recovery.

Garret Spain says "Hold my Beer!"

Rips a deep ball over the RF wall and it's 6-1 Shuckers baby!
