Adams pops out to third.

Boeve pops out to short. And two down,

Up to Pratt to try to extend the lead. Dang they have a lead, but I want more, is that greedy?

Posted

And Pratt grounds it up the middle, and it's a "double" (no one covers second base), the CF then throws it late and Spain tries to score and runs out of the basepath to avoid the tag, and he is ruled out.

But it's a 2 run hit (officially a double on a grounder up the middle), and I wanted to be greedy and get rewarded - it's 7-4 Shuckers, Yes sir!!

Nice to see Ollie Dunn rip one out of the park. 3rd as a Sound. Took a high heater and punished it. Yes, I am back in the second inning. LOL.

Do you have actual pitch movement data? I mean 94.6 mph from Robinson with his movement breakers is HUGE

GameDay giving velo, pitch type & presumably more trustworthy locations.

Griffin Tobias on for the second and goes 4U3D (1 H | 1 K).

Mostly working four seam and sinker at 91-93 (93.9 max) with a 82-84 slider and one change at 85.5 MPH.

Crew got on the board bottom two with a Blake Perkins walk then back to back singles from Handelfry & Jorge Quintana.

Wild watching Hayden Cantrelle still working in the Minors. He looks better - physically has added mass. Looks fluid. Made a nice play at 2B to end the 2nd. Playing on the Iowa Cubs at present.

Glued to the Shuckers game. It's one out and a runner on. Now two on and only 1 out. C'mon Abdiel let's get out of this, no more runners.

But in the desert Tobias goes 3U 3D ( to quote @sveumrules and someone else??) with 2 more Ks in the 3rd.

And Sounds trying to extend the lead, 5-0 after a Quero single. Only one out and bases juiced. Dalbec Ks. But still a chance score more.

& Griffin Tobias goes 1-2-3 in the third picking up two more strikeouts.

Busted out a couple curveballs in the 74.9 to 78.6 MPH range.

Now up to 23.1 IP without walking a batter.

Quero gets a 79 mph change-up top of 3. Cantrelle on 1B. Bang-bang play at 2B. MUCH improved pop, throw, and result by my eyes. 1:59:53 on the replay. Nice work.

Huge moments for Middendorf here. Men on 1st and 2nd. Two down. His first Shuckers outing was, ummmm, not so kind. Can he execute? 7-4 Shuckers. Two down. Let's hope he has his best stuff. Misses low and well outside pitch one.

StatCast stream has gotten a little spotty in AZ (no exit velos on the Handelfry or Quintana singles) but Pedro Ibarguen just ripped a 104.4 MPH base hit.

& I must have jinxed Griffin as he walks the leadoff man bottom four. All apologies young man, I’ll try to be better.

Vaughn - grand slam. 9-0 Sounds!! Ho hum. Crush the cubs

Murray makes a nice play on the ball but can't get the runner at first, and bases loaded in Biloxi. Middendorf in after Mendoza Ks the 2nd out, and he induced what almost would have been the inning ending grounder. Need to get the next man. Let's go Ryan

Ugh. Walks in a run.

Just missed a strike call on "ball 3" sheesh. Next pitch a ball? Not sure I agree with that. But not executing here.

Need to get the out here Middendorf.

Infield single. Salvaged by a very good diving snag by 2B Ethan Murray. Would have scored a run. Bases juiced. Two down. Curve on the inner black for strike one to his second batter. 0-1 count. Another low and inside curve is fouled down the 3B line. High heater. He looks. 1-2 count. Heater way low and away in the dirt. Miller adeptly scoops it with ease - having a heck of a game Miller. Another curve. Center cut. Fouled back. 2-2 count remains. Heater high and in - nice pitch. Fouled down the 1B line. 2-2 remains. Really solid AB. Bases still juiced. Check swing dribbler rolls foul just down the 1B line. Phewwww. 8th pitch is next. AND in classic ML fashion the homeplate ump takes a gorgeous 94 mph heater belt high outer black and calls it a ball. My gods. What the heck was that?!?

Middendorf truly squeezed by the home plate ump here. Not on you Ryan. But still need to get the next guy, and maybe a favorable call here.

Middy was robbed of TWO pitch three strikes. In succession. The second impacted because Miller was mixed up. BUT, make no mistake, the ump blew TWO strikes looking. No doubt about it.

Absolutely can confirm. Let's give you photo frames to comply.

Yup went back to watch, and GameDay is correct. Those pitches WERE definitely in the ZONE.

And then he finally gets the out. Phew. Tightrope here.

EDIT: Sorry meant to write more. Grounder to Boeve and he throws to Middendorf who just beats the runner. Tightrope, but he escapes.

Not just any double play either, but a 3-6-3 double play with (checks notes) first baseman Kevin Ereu ?!? who is making his (checks notes again) second ever start at the cold corner ?!?

This one ultimately falls on Miller. He botches the catch. He is set up outside. It was clearly a strike regardless but Miller caroms the ball off his webbing down the 3B side and the ump just calls it a ball. POOR form by Blue. Truly.

Sounds may be pounding the Cubby Bares but Caissie very much still does damage. That man always finds a hit vs the Brewers affiliates. Heck of a player.
