AND RF Reece Walling has the first Mudcats knock - a first pitch 108 mph line drive double to the left CF wall. Well, hey now! Well done Reece! Lead-off man aboard and standing on 2B in the Mudcats half of the 3rd.

Walther swings and misses - very overmatched that AB - on a slider down and away. Absolutely fooled. That's now 6 K for the Mudcats bats through 2 1/3 innings. Yowza.

No matter, Made scorches a double to the RF wall - well hit liner over the RF's head. That's a team leading 15th double. 1-1 game. He came into today tied for 4th in the League with 14 doubles. Tough read on that. It was a bit of a screamer. 37th RBI.

Made swipes his second SB and has 31 on his season. Wheww. He stands on 3B.

Hardin gets a swinging K on a filthy inside slider.

Made scores on a walk WP. 2-1 Mudcats.

A wild pick-off throw to 1B and Peña takes 2B. Bitonti smokes a single under the glove of the diving SS right up the middle. That ball was smoked and took a weird bounce off the mound. 3-1 Mudcats.

Hardin walks his second batter on five pitches. Cutter seems to be dialed.

Bitonti is caught stealing at 2B. Really nice throw gets him a couple steps before the bag - perfect toss. Anderson grounds out to SS. 3-1 and we head to the 4th.

Oh, shocking, Hardin is squeezed on a gorgeous slider K looking. Ump blows the call. Next pitch, C Matt Wood sheepishly misses a ball low and away and it goes to the backstop. PB. Man on 3rd now. Man, the umps in this Shuckers series have missed a lot of strike calls. RBI single up the middle of the infield on the next pitch. Boooooo! 1-0 Shuckers trail.

Another oppo poke for Quero. Runners on the corners. Seigler gets an RBI ground out (fielder's choice). 1-0 Sounds. Hardin K's the last batter. Should have had three K's zero runs that inning. Nice work. 21 pitches I believe?

WHo other than Bobby Dalbec? He pulls a line drive double down the 3B line scoring Seigler. 2-0 Sounds. Man, you know this: I love me some Bobby Dalbec.

Meccage ends the 4th with a K looking stranding a runner at 1B (lead-off bunt single down the 3B line).

Meccage grabs the elusive but highly sought after 'Pitch Clock Violation' standing strikeout. Noice! One down. Man on first in the top of the 5th. Lead-off five pitch walk.

Muddies fail to get the DP on a classic 6-4-3 ball - missed it by a step. Meccage sees the runner swipe 2B. He then gives up a double down the LF line - that's three XBH so far tonight (all doubles). 3-2 Mudcats. Runner on 2B. Nobody up in the bullpen. Meccage is only at 63 pitches. He is also going for his first Win of his professional career. AND, he completes the fifth - qualified for a possible 'W'. Weakly hit ground out down the 1B line. Meccage feels and calmly throws to 1B. Nice work! 3-2 on to the bottom of 5.

Three of Five outs for Hardin are via K. Gets a K swinging for the second out of his second inning - 94 mph high heater above the zone.

Ahead 1-2, with two down in the second, Hardin chooses to tip his cap to Luke Adams instead and hooks a slider way inside in the dirt hitting the lefty batter on the foot. Noice! Here's to you, Luke! He gets the pop up to Adams on the following pitch to end the inning. Ball don't lie! 1-0 Shuckers trail headed to their half of the 2nd.

Made has been getting on base a ton lately.  Nothing spectacular, but very, very solid for an 18-year old.  His numbers are starting to catch up to Pena's.

Lara walk. A Zavi single up the middle and we have runners on the corners in the Shuckers 2nd. One down (Wilken K).

Muddies flashing their D in the sixth! Rodriguez reached over the LF wall and snagged the first out (he's down that twice in two weeks - the last was in RF). Di Turi fields a ground ball deep down the 3B line. Throws a one-hopper up the line. Bitonti grabs it and makes the tag and holds on. Two down. Mound visit. Meccage at 71 pitches.

The main thing? They are both incredible young talents. Incredible. Peña just line out hard to the deepest part of the CF warning track. Nearly had an XBH for an RBI.

Meccage completes six frames - last out on a check swing K on a really nice low off-speed pitch (I believe a slider). That's 4 K. I believe this is his longest outing? Too lazy to look. 😅

Shuckers suddenl have the bases juiced and Mr. Bases Loaded at the dish (5-for-10 on the season) RF Garrett Spain. One out. Wood walked to load em up.

OH my. Spain missed a line drive double/triple down the RF line by about 1 foot outside the line. Whewwww. So close. Roped that ball. Long strike.

Man. I've seen most of SPain's bases loaded AB's. They are incredible. He enters a whole new zone. He was 0-2. He is now 2-2 and has fouled three straight.
