Pratt walked and stole second base in his second AB. At least, he's standing on 2B now. I don't know. The camera angle was Blake Burke's left foot. God bless Minor League baseball.

In Minor League baseball, the tie goes to the runner 50% of the time. It's a new rule. I'm continually amazed at how many times the infield umps blow calls at 1B in favor of the defense. Darrien Miller legged out a slow rolling grounder to beat the DP - tie goes to the runner. Never mind. Ump confidently calls him out. Shuckers strand two runners. 2-1 on to the bottom of the 3rd.

Patrick was touching 95 and change in a very efficient 1-2-3 first. Got a K looking at 95 on the outer black. Nice frame. DeBerry has really responded retiring 5-of-6 before getting the third out of his third inning of work. 2-1 Shuckers in the 4th. Spain just gave us the old swinging K throw the bat into the opponents dugout look. Noice!

The flowing golden hair that is Joey Wiemer just worked a count full and then took Patrick to the left CF fence and over for a two-run jack. Was not expecting that! LOL. Sounds trail 2-0.

Patrick was ahead to open this inning 0-2. He walked that hitter. Then Wiems 3-2 2-run shot. Now an 0-2 double to the RF corner. Not a good frame after a fantastic first inning. Nobody out.

Patrick settles down from there. Check swing sword K on a high heater. Pop up to Zamora at SS. K looking on Sasaki - I'm used to seeing him man CF in Pensacola. I guess he's played four games as a Shrimp.

Since DeBerry's jittery first? He has retired 12-of-13. Fantastic work from there from the young man. Couldn't be more impressed with the way he's found his stuff; composed himself; and shut the door. Shuckers still clinging to a 2-1 lead. We head to the 5th.

Sounds announcer just mentioned Quero is doing well down in Arizona and may be back with the Sounds within the next couple of days. Fantastic news. Meanwhile, Rodriguez walked a batter after Hall couldn't stay on the base with a possible web gem play from Made. Ahead 1-2 in the count, Diaz dropped a foul back. Next pitch? Three-run blast over the LF wall. Oooof. 3-3 game in Peoria.

Mistake pitch for a 3-run game-tying bomb. How does Manuel respond? A 1-2 swinging K on a change-up outer upper half of the zone. We head to the top of the 3rd. 3-3 game.

Meanwhile, Pratt just lined out hard to 3B. Boeve (HBP - back foot) scrambles back. Man, these are some hard outs in Knoxville. Shuckers still clinging to a 2-1 lead in the 5th.

Patrick is just not quite dialed in. In important counts, he's missing pitches. That's three 3-2 walks in the past two frames and this last one was his worst. The first two missed by an inch or so - very close. Just not quite dialed in. He now has two two out runners aboard. Last inning's two-run jack came with two down as well.

This just in. Hot off the presses.

INF Daniel Guilarte can still not hit a baseball. My goodness he puts out consistent bad AB's on a routine basis. Truly. Just not competitive at the dish. Anyhow. 0-for-2. 2 K.

Nicasia opened the 4th with a free pass. With one down (Guilarte K), Diaz sneaks a ground ball through the right side. Nicasia had stolen 2B. T-Rats now lead 4-3.

Darrien Miller with his second Catcher's Interference of his evening. BOTH times, in full counts absolutely leaving his young pitcher out to dry. Puts the second runner aboard on DeBerry in his sixth inning after he walked the first batter. Can. Not. Happen. That would have been a foul ball and another chance to get the batter out. Ugh.

What an outing for DeBerry.

Gonna give props to Miller too, as a DeBerry pitch-whisperer, even with the 2 catchers' interference.

Too bad the offense couldn't cash in on that Eduardo double and Spain single in the top half of the 6th inning.

DeBerry!

What a job. WHAT a job. He narrowly misses the slowly hit DP. By a half a step at 1B. Runner takes 2B (indifference - nobody covering when he stepped off the mound). He then gets ahead 0-2. He then gets the swinging K on a slider away. Just heck of a job to work out of that. 2-1. Heading to the 7th.

Meanwhile, Patrick gave up a lead-off triple into the deep RF corner. He scored. It's 6-0 Sounds losing. Rough rough outing. Berroa - web gem sprinting catch over his shoulder at the straightaway warning track.

AND, I can honestly say: I do not think I've ever seen OF Luis Castillo make a difficult play in the outfield. He just doesn't have it in the bag. He gets there. He just doesn't ever seem to catch those balls. Deep ball to the LF warning track and wall. He got there. The ball fell to the base of the wall. Is what it is.

Yeah, that was something. Spain got picked off in a run down for the second out.

Brutal. LOL.

That's generous to Miller. Really. He's been catching long enough in Double-A to know how to avoid that - especially twice. Especially in the 6th inning after DeBerry had just walked a batter and especially in a 3-2 count. Nice young man though!

I'm going to say the obvious:

These current Sounds desperately miss my guy Bobby Dalbec. Man, he really was the glue to the offense. Sorry, not sorry.

Really nice 1-2-3 inning from on LHP Nate Peterson. Man, it's hard to impart to you all how much better he has been in 2025 than 2024. Everything is sharper. It's beautiful to witness. The stats do not lie here.

First game with the Marlins Org. Wiemer has the 2-run and 3-run jack. Now he works a walk. It's Wiemer's world and Patrick is just living in it. 😅

Let's add a SB for Wiems now too. What a fantastic debut for the ol' friend from Cincinnati! Check that. They send Wiems back due to, wait for it, Umpire's Interference!

Everybody interfere now! What a wild night behind the dish. Get it together back there.

Alrighty. It's Animal Chores again. Taking a Pause on all these game.

T-Rats lead 4-3 in Peoria in the bottom of the 5th.

Sounds trail 6-0 in the bottom of the 5th.

Shuckers lead 2-1. Top of the 8th. Man on 2B. Garcia at the dish.

Well. The Shuckers close it out. Middendorf made it interesting. But 8-4 win

Sounds are soundly losing. Wiener 5, rest of his team 4, Sounds 0.. ugh

Catching up but Pratt 1-2 with 3 walks, that's encouraging. Burke with a big double. DeBerry's numbers look good sounds like some ups and down, but very encouraging for him. He has been the victim of a big inning, and sounds like the 1st was that inning for him but survived with only 1 run allowed, then buckled down.

T-Rats had something going, But a weak strikeout by Guilarte - man the at bats I've watched from him have not been the best. Then a blood fly and a great catch by the CF robs Diaz of a hit. 6-4 Peoria still leads.
