I am thankful almost daily to have his countenance, cadence, and vibes safely down south, never to return.

As a fan of the Crew and native son now living in NYC this was fantastic. I had to watch the knockout game last year with my SO’s family and friends, Mets fans one and all. Heartbreaking.

Brewers, Brewers, keep turning up the heat

Dude I empathize, watching that playoff loss down here as a 30 year fan in Tennessee by myself was bad enough. I cannot imagine watching it surrounded by New Yorkers. I hate Pete Alonso.

But tonight felt good.

There are many better playoff formats than the current one.  I'd make the WC#3 play @WC#2  two days after the season ends in a 3pm game.  If they lose they are done. If they win they play a rematch 45 minutes after game one is done in an elimination game.  The winner plays two days later @WC#1 in the same format. Whoever emerges from that plays the #1 seed in the division series.

Make regular season and division titles mean something and add a ridiculous amount of drama and non-stop elimination games for the Wild Card teams right after the regular season ends.  These days would be EPIC and get a national TV audience that the MLB has been craving for decades.

If the doubleheader is too much, I suppose they could just play the day after the season ends instead and spread the two games out over two days if WC#3 wins game 1.

Just have the two wildcard teams play a 3 game series. It’s that simple. MLB made some big stink about time and giving teams off back in the day. And now? They give the best team over a week off. It’s ridiculous.

But there are 3 wildcards.

My point is there should only be two. 3 game series. Let the division winners rest for a moment. This isn’t rocket science.

Cubs fan posted the thought that at this point, having the Mets lose might be the better outcome for their playoff chances.

What a difference in the vibe of the two fanbases.

Yep. Two WCs in a short series with the winner joining the division champs.

But @Soupyis dead on. Common sense playoff structure is always going to lose out to $$$$.

What's the saying?..........."It doesn't make sense, it makes dollars"
