MLF needs to adopt the Coach Boone philosophy of breaking a foot in someone's ass and then running them a mile every time someone drops a pass.

This is pretty bad football even for preseason.

I had to turn it off and go straight to the brewers.

Thinking of doing the same thing until the start of the second half. I see they took the lead.

Preseason football can be a tough watch.

Going to be some tough film sessions for the lineman on both sides of the ball.

Probably for everyone. Just all around bad football being played.

Granted most of these guys will be selling used cars or working landscape jobs in a couple of weeks but woof.

We were barely good enough for a 7 seed in the NFC last year. Our signings were Nate Hobbs and Mecole Hardman, and Aaron Banks, and we lost Jaire and others.

I honestly don’t expect us to be a serious contender.

Careful. Going to make some people here very upset by just stating reality. We were so close to winning the Super Bowl. We only lost to the Eagles by 10.

But I was reliably told by Gute that they were ramping up the urgency.

I do think they will be a better team this year than last but I worry it's just the fan in me being hopeful. There is a lot of young talent on the team that should develop. But fans never account for regression either.

I think they'll win 11 games. I would +/- 2 wins depending on how Love plays. They'll ultimately sink or swim with the season he has. Their schedule isn't easy but they get a lot of tougher games at home or earlier in the year or both, it seems favorable.

To be a real contender they need more than they got last year.

Just to clarify, and I'm not directing this to just you, I still think this team will be competitive, but this was a terrible performance even by preseason standards.  I don't think most any of us care about the outcome of preseason games much, but what you want to see is execution, improvements from last season and disciplined, fundamental football, none of which we got last night. The same red flags we had last year (drops, holding penalties) reared their ugly heads again, even more so. This time you needed two hands to count the dropped passes we had. Hardmann was absolutely pathetic. No way he is making the cut. Our assumed two best offensive lineman did not play well at all. The defense played out of position so much that I thought Barry was back as our DC. The only good thing I took away from this game is that Golden looks like the real deal. Well, that and Sorrell played well.

That being said, we still play in the toughest division in the NFL, and I wouldn't be surprised either way if we won the division or finished dead last.
