Astros DFA’d the better of the two Urias brothers.

Ramon managed to put up a 2.2 WAR last season and would be a definite utility upgrade over Monasterio (plays 1B, 2B and 3B)

Probably won’t make it to the Brewers though on waivers

My guess is he actually just gets DFAd on 11/21 and will become a free agent.

I don’t think we are in the market for a non-short stop playing utility infielder though considering we will run with a 4 man bench and Yelich is basically a DH only at this point.

he’s also probably more expensive than we’d want to pay a utility guy.

Never say never, but I would also be concerned about the lack of depth he'd provide at SS. While I think he'd be OK in a pinch, if he was on the team, I could see the Brewers moving Turang to short when Ortiz came out of the game. While Urias is league average OPS+, he isn't a difference maker.

Although he has some of the same SS issues as Urias, I wonder if Gavin Lux (if non-tendered) would be a better fit.

I saw the MLbTR non-tender list too and some names piqued my interest.   Lux was one of them.   Something tells me he would perform his best in his home state in our organization and he can play all over the diamond.  Next, I saw the name Jake Burger with a 1B/3B position next to his name.   I know we wouldn’t hand him the keys at 3B but if he can handle small doses there or even a few innings after pinch hitting, his power bat could be big for us.   Lastly was Jonathan India.   If he can play some SS, he’s a guy that has some pop and would be great to add to the infield mix,

I do believe these guys probably require a trade of something but closer to the bargain bin type of trade capital.   I’d love to add two of the three but even one of the three would have me feeling a whole lot better about our infield and potentially even open up a trade route of a Pratt centered deal to help this years squad.
