04/08/05 - Brewers (Capuano) @ Cubs (Wood), 1:20 PM CT

[brewerjamie15]

Ball four by Wood, and the lead off man is aboard in Brady Clark. Lets Go!!

[ja002h]

I think Brady has the little known "walk kavorka"

[BigGunToddDunn]

Well, that's what you want from your leadoff man.

[BigGunToddDunn]

Uke said that Burnitz got a standing-o from the right field cub faithful. Guess they don't miss Sosa. And Uke just said that he thinks the Cubs are better w/o Sosa or Alou.

[Bruce Ciskie]

Wood is wild early. We have to get to him before he settles in.

[ja002h]

Gotta love the pitch counts so far.

[BigGunToddDunn]

Drive him in Carlos. Ohhh, they're booing him

[Bruce Ciskie]

CARLOS!

[berniebrewer4life]

ATTA BOY LEE!!! You could see a HUGE smile on his face when the wrigley crowd was booin him. 1-0 Brew Crew.

[ja002h]

The Horse!!!

edit: Why are Cubs fans booing a former WS player? Not that they are rational, but...

[AJAY]

The key to everything was the walk by Clark. It's amazing what a little plate discipline can result in.

[deeswan]

Boy, Jenks looked not good in that at bat.

[berniebrewer4life]

Not a bad inning, got a run in. Forced Wood to throw 20 pitches. Just gotta hope Cappy comes through.

[jakesdaddio]

Is it too early to start worrying about Jenkins/Overbay slumping?

[Bruce Ciskie]

One pitch. One out. I like that. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif

[Bruce Ciskie]

And Cappy gets one to go fishing. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

[jakesdaddio]

Big K!!

[jakesdaddio]

Shoot, Now it's scary!

[berniebrewer4life]

Man, those cubs jerseys look so odd without the names on the back. Who do they think they are? The Yankees?

[Bruce Ciskie]

Holy cut, Batman.

Ramirez sure didn't get cheated on that swing.

[jakesdaddio]

Silly questionl. Does anyone know if pickoff throws count as pitches? Do they count them at all??

[ja002h]

Nope.

[berniebrewer4life]

I know they don't count towards the pitch count, but i donno if there is a stat for em. I don't think so though.

[jakesdaddio]

c'mon, throw strikes!

Though I hate all things Scrubs, I have to admit that WGN's new camera angle from behind home is the best I've ever seen. My roomie and other baseball friends I've talked with all agree that the pitcher>hitter>catcher view limits the success of baseball as a TV sport. WGN's brings infield alignment into view (if not the outfield) and, IMO, shows the in/out of pitches better. I could watch an entire game from that view. What do others think?

Also, too bad TMJ's feed is about five seconds ahead of the TV broadcast again.
