08/23/2004 - Brewers (Sheets) at Cubs (Zambrano)

So why don't Bill and Darren start talking about No-Hitters like they would if it was a Brewer pitching?

C'mon Darren and Bill, jinx it!!!

Who was the last Cub to throw a no-no?

Who was the last to throw one at Wrigley?

LOL! You called it! Clark just singled in Jenkins, too. Is it just me, or is Brady Clark the only guy actually doing anything as of late?

I'm sure Sheets facing the Cubs every other start means is really helping him.

And Clark has an August OPS of 719. He isn't doing anything lately.

Well hey, a three run inning is not bad for the crew. We cut the lead to 1/2 of what it was and now for the best part: just two more runs and we can get six George Webb burgers for just $5.00!!!!

at least we wont be no hit.

How far did the Brewers drag me down as a fan in 2002? During that season I began to approach games with a mental checklist:

1. Avoid the no-hitter.

2. Avoid the shutout.

Some days, anything else was gravy.

Now I always think to myself after the first Brewers hit, whew. Seriously. But it sounded so plausible for the Brewers to serve up nothing tonight, against the Cubs, thanks to Hothead, etc. Hence my freaked out post a little while ago. I feel a little better now.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Is it just me, or is Doug Davis the only pitcher (starter or reliever) that has looked good lately?? Maybe we can throw Dave Burba in there, too.
