Hampton in the last series, Willis (again) in the series before that, and Al Leiter in New York, but I believe the New York series was when Branyan had JUST gotten the cortisone shot.

 

But still, that's plenty of lefty starters in a short span that he's been benched against.

Powell is really getting on Grieve's ass lately.

 

I know Grieve says he cares, and I believe him, and I don't think a guys laid back demeanor means he doesn't care. But when you strike out, and then the ball bounces away, and you just stand there and wait for the catcher to tag you out, you shouldn't question why people say you're not giving enough effort, or say that you act like you don't really care.

Sometimes Grieve takes way too many pitches (not a bad thing, but as has been said, taking the third strike everytime up at bat isn't a great thing) and does show an occassional lack of hustle.

 

And the bullpen once again starts to collapse. Please don't blow it for Doug.
