7/04/2004 Brewers (Capuano) at Pirates (Burnett)

Brewers needed a win badly here to get some confidence going into a huge series tomorrow. Cappy takes the mound for the Brewers, and he has always managed to keep us in the game.

Sean Burnett is the starter for the Pirates today, the 16th pick in the 2000 draft, he picked up his first win against the cardinals in his 4th start of the season last week.

GO CREW!!!!!!!!!!!!

We should find and join a Pirates message board and post a bunch of pictures of brooms and sweepers. *That'll* jinx 'em. Go Brewers.
Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

If Jack Wilson ends up making the all-star team, he should send thank you cards to the Brewers pitching staff.

You can see it is starting to rain in PIttsburgh. We gotta score early and often today.

I was hoping Hall would give Podsednik a chance to steal. Instead he swung at the first pitch.

This is getting harder to watch.

A few days ago I didnt think anything was going to be able to spoil the upcoming series at Miller vs the Cubs. This 4 game sweep has done just that.

It's a 2-1 game in the 6th. I realize it's been a rough three games, but to call it a 4 game sweep this early is a little premature. Remember, a week ago the Brewers lost three in a row and everyone called the season over. Then the Brewers followed it up with a five game winning streak. It's a long season.

Nice hit, Brady -- looks like a line drive in the box score.

Can we lose the word "********" already in the subject line of recent game threads?

Yeah, the amount of negativity is staggering.

Brady with a big bloop single!

Just need to keep them off the board now and get a couple runs.

He came through with a big base hit, but let's do a little fact checking nonetheless.

Bill Schroeder: "Brady Clark does most of his damage with two strikes."

Is that true? Let's see.

Hits with two strikes: 17

Total hits this season: 39

Extra-base hits with two strikes: 3 (all doubles)

Extra-base hits this season: 7 (3 doubles, 4 homers)

RBI with two strikes: 5

Total RBI this season: 19

Nope.

Not hating on Brady, hating on Bill Schroeder for a lack of preparation and for spouting off about something of which he has done zero research. That just took me about 2 minutes... and I don't get paid to do it. He's got all of these numbers sitting right in front of him (or on the computer, obviously). Too much effort to "fact check" your assertions for yourself, Bill?

Let's Go Brew-ers.

This series wasn't about strategy, line-ups, or anything except a bunch of bad, bad pitches in key situations by pitchers who, for the most part (Wes O. excluded) have been pitching over their heads all season.

From the Urban Dictionary:

suck: to be really really crappy

That team last night really sucked. They just plain sucked. I've seen teams suck before, but they were the suckiest buncha sucks that ever sucked.

Yep. That about covers it.

Wow, this is just pathetic. Let's just get out of Pittsburgh and forget that this ever happened while doing our best to not impersonate 2001....

This is totally unbeleiveable. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif

DEJA VU only 3 years later. The collapse has begun.

It's not negativity. It's REALITY. This team has overachieved and gotten some of us long suffering fans very excited. I suppose it's time to just sit back and wait for the Packers to get going again.

DAMN PIRATES!
