Bonds?

Posted
Just perusing the mlb4u site and noticed on the list of players who could clear waivers and be traded in August that Bonds is on the list. Here's an interested possibility (pure speculation on my part), but do you think the Cubs could make a run at Bonds? Just tossing it out there to see what others think. I believe it's a very remote possibility, but it just got me wondering when I saw his name on that list.

I believe it does and all I've been able to find is that he's indicated that he'd waive it to go to an AL club. But if that's true, I would sure think he may waive it to give a WS ring a shot. And then worry about signing with an AL club for '08 if he really wants to play another year.

I'm thinking he's done after this year. He has the home run record, and doesn't need all the scrutiny anymore. He'll tease signing with another club this off-season, then make a speech about how his body is starting to wear down and he's accomplished what he wanted to, and call it a career.

Bonds will play in 08'. And probably still be damn good. Probably as a DH somewhere in the AL. Possible teams from what I have heard are Oakland, Anaheim and New York. If he stays in the NL as a LF I have heard San Diego.
